There are few moving parts: grapefruit and bergamot to open, grapefruit, apricot and pear through the middle, then ginger as the sole base note.
Bergamot and grapefruit set out the stall at once. The grapefruit supplies juicy bitterness and lift, the bergamot a neater, aromatic polish that keeps the top end bright.
Through the middle, grapefruit carries over and is cushioned by orchard fruit. Pear lends a transparent, watery succulence, apricot a ripe, fleshy sweetness that rounds the initial acidity.
Ginger alone forms the foundation. Rather than adding richness, it contributes a cool, spiced edge that sustains momentum and keeps the fruit from settling too softly.
