  Obviously, it’s a clear inspiration for Creed Aventus. I’ve never smelled the original, but comparing it with Zara VL and Carrera gives me an idea. Initially, there are citrus notes which then give way to smoky pineapple. Here, I don’t detect the ambergris; it’s absent or very difficult to find. It gives me a very similar sensation to the VL, but without that stinging, unpleasant bergamot note; overall, it’s less grotesque than the Zara version, though it revolves around the same concept. The projection is a bit weak, but the longevity is good; after 10 hours, I still sense it close to the skin. In summary, it’s a very good option as an Aventus inspiration, with an uncommon scent that draws on high-end perfumery. Carrera Jeans is well executed.

  I’ve been wearing this for a while and, to be honest, it disappointed me. I suppose it’s a copy of Creed Aventus, as the notes are identical and the reference is obvious. The scent is grotesquely synthetic and very intense on citrus at first. There’s a hint of pineapple, but don’t expect that smoky pineapple. At the end, I think I detect some ambergris, which adds a marine touch and perhaps amplifies the synthetic quality. PS: try Vibrant Leather or CDNI instead; they give a similar feel but of better quality.

  It’s now my third bottle and I have to say it’s brilliant. I wear it in the mornings for work and receive compliments; by evening, the citrus note lingers until I shower. Given the price and quality, it deserves a place in the vanity or as a collector’s item. It resembles Club de Nuit, but I prefer Carrera as it lacks that synthetic edge and clings to the skin wonderfully.
