I tried it in Chile and absolutely loved it: it’s elegant, with a perfectly balanced sweetness, and very well made. Unfortunately, we no longer have it here, but if I find it, I’ll buy it with my eyes closed.
It’s funny, but it’s clearly sweet within the oriental men’s category, without tonka bean or vanilla; the amber and musk are to blame. It opens strong with pear and a touch of lemon, with flowers (I can’t quite detect the calendula) and soft lavender. That sweet yet masculine sensation lasts all day (some see it as unisex). In the dry-down it becomes more powdery: violet, rose, and cedar. It’s a persistent oriental that lasts over twelve hours, with a heavy to moderate sillage. It’s elegant, ideal for formal and evening events, perfect for winter, autumn, or cool springs, though it can be heavy in summer. Curiously, it reminds me of Armani Code Classic and Lapidus Pour Homme Black Extreme (both orientals), and a British forum user says it bears a strong resemblance to Lapidus Black Soul.
