The bottle, though simple, is undeniably Dior from every angle. It reminds me of old-fashioned cologne bottles, the glassware used for my grandmother’s homemade sweet liqueurs. I’d love it to be refillable. I was curious about the ‘Cruise Collection’ and discovered it is another work of perfumery art by master François Demachy; at this stage, I could buy his fragrances with my eyes closed, for in my opinion, he possesses a privileged nose and taste for subtlety, elegance, and glamour. In fact, I would love to own the complete collection. The fragrance is a real relax for me. I love drinking my morning coffee with it on; the combination of scents is exquisite, very energising and pleasant. It also works wonderfully at night; its projection outdoors is enveloping, comforting and slightly warm, so I presume it would work perfectly all year round and in the cold (not just in spring-summer or hot climates). I first perceive the tea: sometimes astringent, with a bitter-citrus and floral touch… other times sweet and soft (it’s astonishing). Then the cardamom, aromatic and delicious, reinforcing the presence of the tea. In the third instance, the jasmine… very pleasant, as if smelling it through a window where a soft, perfumed breeze enters, with a certain earthy and woody accent; which I attribute to its combination with sandalwood. I think men can use it without any issues; I consider it unisex. Although it could be used daily, I think I will enjoy it more and use it better, reserving it for occasions when I want to feel very comfortable, relaxed and at ease. Does using this fragrance transport you to a serene place, away from the chaos and stress of cities like mine nowadays? … I think so, totally.
Although I’m usually the one contradicting Azuriiita, hahaha, this time (and not just this time, eh!) I’ll subscribe to every word, every idea, and every concept she described in her review. It really is the best description this feminine fragrance could have, which is quite fresh by the way.
I tried it on a sample given away by a perfumerie and loved it; I couldn’t stop smelling it. Despite being fresh, it’s very consistent and leaves a lasting trail on the skin. Very elegant.

Following the success of Hermès Jardins, Dior launched the Escalés collection with Demachy, their great perfumer. This is the most unisex of them all. It smells of tea with spices (Indian influence), I note cardamom and oriental sandalwood which gives it a sweet touch. It also smells slightly of cinnamon to me, but that’s just me. It lasts all year round, even at night, and holds up well. Demachy does fresh and comforting fragrances very well. They say they are the most difficult to create because they can easily become vulgar. To give them distinction, one must work with the nose and essences. This perfume is well-made and distinguished. Ideal for gifting and looks great with sportswear. It sits wonderfully. Furthermore, it’s addictive. The fragrance invites closeness and generates optimism.
Following the success of Hermès Jardins, Dior launched the Escalés collection by Demachy, their master perfumer. This is the most unisex of the range. It smells of tea with spices (an Indian influence), with notes of cardamom and oriental sandalwood giving it a sweet touch. I also detect a hint of cinnamon, though that might just be my imagination. It’s suitable all year round, even in the evening, and has good longevity. Demachy excels at creating fresh, comforting fragrances. They say these are the hardest to formulate as they can easily become vulgar; it takes a refined nose and skill with essences to add distinction. This perfume is well-made and distinguished. It’s ideal for gifting and pairs wonderfully with sportswear. It looks great, too. Plus, it’s addictive. The fragrance invites closeness and generates optimism.
Good evening. I’ve just tried the 75ml of Dior Escalé à Pondichéry, and to be honest, it’s not quite for me. If anyone else is interested, let me know. I’m from Argentina. Best wishes.
