Cuir velouté caught me off guard. It’s leather with raspberry and caramel. It starts soft and velvety, with acidic notes of raspberry and bergamot, before myrrh, saffron and plum step in to add mystery. As it develops, the star emerges: an earthy leather with floral touches. Gradually, caramel, labdanum and amber wrap around it, lending sweetness and creaminess until on the skin it smells like velveteen suede. It doesn’t project much, but the trail is potent. For me, it’s elegant, timeless and sensual.
