I tried this perfume today and although I like it I have to admit a small disappointment. I had made huge expectations after seeing reviews on the internet and YouTube where they presented it as a beast in intensity and projection so much so that I hesitated to buy it blind. I thought about ordering samples but I took advantage of a regular purchase that usually includes freebies to try it before… and what a good decision! It’s not what I expected. It smells good it’s elegant natural and with quality ingredients but nothing like the performance I imagined. It’s floral with a green earthy base and a tropical fruity touch. The scent is rich; it reminds me of Moonlight or Heaven by Kilian but where I expected an intense and creamy floral like Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle I found something fresh and fruity more for everyday use or summer although it’s very versatile. The longevity isn’t bad; I’ve worn it for 8 hours and I still feel it clinging to the skin but the projection is moderate. It only explodes a bit when I first go out with the white flowers then it becomes a skin-scent sweetness and goes unnoticed. I don’t find it as dense as other extrait de parfum I’ve tried (although the term is not very illustrative). I don’t know what concentration it has but if they told me it was EDP I’d believe them. In short it smells good and I’d use it in summer without a doubt but for the price there are better options so I doubt I’ll buy it. If you’ve seen videos where they paint it as a beast don’t buy it blind; try it first because it might disappoint you. I tried this perfume today and although I like it I have to admit a small disappointment. I had made huge expectations after seeing reviews on the internet and YouTube where they painted it as a beast in performance and projection. That’s why I hesitated to buy the bottle blind; although the notes seemed interesting I thought better of ordering samples. I took advantage of a regular order that includes freebies and ordered one of these. What a good decision! It’s nothing like what I expected. It smells good yes no doubt. It’s elegant feels natural and of course with quality ingredients. But nothing like that power I expected. It’s floral with a green base an earthy touch and a tiny tropical fruity note. The scent is very rich; it reminds me of Moonlight or Heaven by Kilian. The problem is the expectations: where I expected an intense and creamy floral like Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle I found something fresh and fruity more for daily use or a summer day although it’s very versatile. The longevity isn’t bad; I’ve worn it for about 8 hours and if I bring my nose close to my wrists I still feel it clinging to the skin. The projection is very moderate; perhaps a bit stronger when I first go out where the white flower scent explodes a bit but in little time it transforms into a skin-scent sweetness that while lasting goes largely unnoticed. Also I haven’t found it as dense as other extrait de parfum I’ve tried (although the term is not very illustrative if it varies between 25% and 40%). I don’t know what concentration it has but if they told me it was EDP I’d believe them. In short it smells good and I’d use it in summer or hot days without a doubt… but for the price I think there are better options so I doubt I’ll buy it. If you’ve seen videos where they paint it as a beast don’t buy it blind. Try it first and make your own decisions because perfume performance is very subjective and it’s easy to be disappointed. I agree with Emorandeira: the guava is the star note. It smells tropical and green lasts on the skin but isn’t a monster nor does it have that projection they claim. Honestly I expected much more especially for the price; from this brand I’ll stick with Kisses Rain. Ideal for those looking for something tropical and fresh and if you like guava even better.
If we look at the pyramid of Jardin Apres La Mousson they share many notes and although Hermes declares no fruit many people (including me) detect a certain melon scent. This smells more professional with more nuances and quality. But at first impression it left me feeling a bit cold as if I couldn’t smell it much despite applying several sprays at home. That combined with the disproportionate price makes me not see it as an option but undoubtedly it smells very well and is pleasant.
From the Taino collection the only things that hook me are Habana 500 and this De Lirius. In a world where fruity florals are similar and abundant this smells different and I love that it doesn’t remind me of anything not even the guava which I don’t even notice here and don’t mind because I’ve never liked it. Definitely delicious fresh summery and those green touches make the sweetness look much more attractive. It’s already on my wishlist.
De Lirius is a very original, evocative and natural fruity tropical floral, with a creamy green touch, almost velvety, super pleasant and fun. Sometimes it smells almost gourmand of banana, but the white flowers dominate, accompanied by a frangipani-like scent (which isn’t listed on the card). The fruity part is juicy; you can taste the guava and something like kiwi, always tropical. The result is like a smoothie with all that, plus a shot of spiced cream with cardamom and a luminous touch I’d call ‘solar musk’. On my skin it doesn’t evolve much, but it sweetens a little more without becoming cloying, always balanced and natural. I see it as the perfume of someone from the Caribbean, very cheerful and warm. Unisex, super casual, summery, with excellent performance for tropical or temperate climates. I love it, it smells like holidays and good vibes, so it’s worth trying. Note: 8.5/10 Sample at Cruz & Valencia, Chile.

The star here is the butterfly flower, the national flower of the owner’s and perfumer’s land. If you’ve ever smelled it, you’ll recognise it: in the opening it’s overwhelming, mixed with magnolia, greens and citrus, until over time it balances with a little sweetness of guava, soursop and cahoba. That’s its rarity: a simple and elegant evocation of a fertile Caribbean garden. As someone said, it shares a structure with Jardin Apres La Mousson, which has executed that note better so far. In my opinion, it’s one of the best from the Renier house.
The protagonist is the butterfly flower (Hedychium coronarium) Cuba’s national flower and the perfumer’s inspiration. If you’ve smelled it you’ll recognise it as overwhelming at first with magnolia greens and citrus. Then it balances with a sweet guava soursop and cahoba. The rarity is that it’s a simple and elegant evocation of a fertile Caribbean garden. It shares a structure with Jardin Apres La Mousson which executes that note very well. In my opinion it’s one of Renier’s best.
What a fantastic fragrance. I tried it by chance and before I only paid attention to their dark notes like Behique or Cacique. Lirius is a beautiful tribute from Renier to Cuba before Columbus: virgin land, tropical climate and lush vegetation. It opens with green notes inseparable from the national flower, the butterfly or ginger lily, alongside the intoxicating scent of soursop, that fluffy and sweet fruit. Guava leaves add astringency to balance the sweetness and highlight the green, creating a fruity white floral, unisex thanks to vetiver, wet earth and woods like cedar, guaiac and mahogany. You can detect a touch of amber, and as it dries, the ‘nañe’ of the butterfly appears, giving a talc-like and slightly spicy touch. If you don’t know Renier, it’s a great option to start with, especially if you don’t like the ouds and animal notes in their usual DNA. It’s unisex, though some might feel it’s more feminine; in my opinion it has a perfect balance. Congratulations to Renier for this work of art and to Juan Pérez for making it a reality.
What a wonderful fragrance. I tried it at random and never paid it much attention because I prefer darker scents like Behique and Cacique. From Renier it’s a tribute to Cuba before Columbus: virgin land Taínos damp fields and abundant vegetation. It opens with green notes inseparable from the national flower the Mariposa or ginger lily accompanied by the intoxicating soursop sweet and perfumed. Guava leaves provide astringency to counterbalance the sweetness and accentuate the green a white fruity floral but unisex thanks to vetiver wet earth and woods like cedar and mahogany. You can detect a touch of amber and as it dries the nañe of the butterfly appears powdery and spicy. If you’re not into Renier’s ouds and animalic notes this is a great option to start. Unisex perfect balance congratulations to Renier and Juan Pérez for this work of art.
Can we mention how satisfying and relaxing it is? It’s a hypnotic scent in the air; the first time I used it, I almost fell asleep enjoying it so much. It’s a fine composition of exotic flowers sweetened with guava and soursop, giving it that tropical touch that in the opening smells like soursop chewing gum (if such a thing exists). Then comes a drier part with vetiver, pepper, musk and a touch of geosmine that makes it super authentic and niche, nothing common from top to toe. And yet, it’s easy to like for anyone of any age. It’s my favourite tropical perfume of my life. Perhaps it’s 60-40 feminine, but I love it, I adore wearing it and I get lots of compliments.
What satisfaction and relaxation does smelling this give? It’s hypnotic; the first time I used it I almost fell asleep from how good it smells. A fine composition of exotic flowers sweetened with guava and soursop a tropical touch that at first smells like soursop bubblegum (if it existed). Then it turns into something dry with vetiver pepper musk and geosmin. It’s super authentic totally niche nothing common yet easy to enjoy for any age. It’s my favourite tropical scent a bit feminine (60-40); I love it and I get compliments.
At first it didn’t grab me; I thought it would be fruitier. But once I let go of my expectations it hooked me. It’s addictive; every time I smell it I like it more. It’s unique with a lot of fresh green notes and a base that borders on menthol surely ginger. I also detect grapefruit and something earthy. It’s a complex fragrance but you get used to it little by little.
