About Dorval
Dorval, a New Woody Spicy Fragrance by Parfums de Marly
Parfums de Marly has launched Dorval, a new masculine woody spicy fragrance for 2026. It’s a fresh addition to the French house’s line-up, bringing warmth and character to a familiar theme.
The scent plays with opposites: sparkling citrus and pink pepper meet smooth balsamic notes, while a sweet, ambery base adds depth and lasting appeal.
At the top, bergamot, pink pepper and cardamom create an energetic opening. The heart is where the fragrance warms up, blending clary sage, Copaiba balsam and cinnamon into an aromatic, resinous embrace.
In the base, ambroxan, praliné, vanilla, tonka bean and guaiac wood form a woody, sweet core with just a hint of smoke. The accords list – amber, soft spicy, aromatic, musky, citrus, balsamic, woody, fresh spicy and sweet – gives a good sense of its many layers.
Wear it on colder days and it comes into its own, projecting steadily without shouting. Ambroxan keeps things modern, while the accompanying sweetness is tempered by the dry, slightly peppered woodiness. The overall effect is elegant and comfortable.
Dorval is still a newcomer, but early impressions are strong: a 4.66 out of 5 rating from 29 reviews. If you enjoy woody, spicy fragrances with a gourmand twist, it’s certainly worth sampling.
It suits men who appreciate warm, spicy scents with a hint of sweetness, particularly during autumn and winter. It’s versatile enough for daytime wear and evening events alike.
All in all, Dorval is a polished and inviting woody spicy perfume from Parfums de Marly, ideal for those who like their fragrances rich yet refined.
