Beautiful. I can’t be impartial because Carlos Benaim is my favourite perfumer along with Nathalie Lorson; everything they do is impeccable. Eternity is one of the best fougères, not just of the 90s but of history. It’s everything a perfume should be: neither warm nor fresh, neither sweet nor bitter, neither elegant nor ordinary. That’s how old men’s perfumes were, something lost with time. Pure timelessness. One review says it smells like Easter incense and they’re right. At one point, it reminds me of Loewe 7; they don’t smell the same but it has a similar incense tone. Today it’s a very recommended purchase. Eternally a 10.
You can feel the passage of time; it reminds you of another era and generations. In its time, it stood out, but for current times, it no longer fits.
Although it’s from the 90s, it’s not an ‘old man’ perfume. It’s aromatic, citrusy with a sweet touch, giving a sense of cleanliness and freshness, but with masculine woods. I classify it for good weather and daytime, but it’s versatile and works too at night. It’s not invasive but doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s fresh and soft, but noticeable. It projects for a couple of hours, maybe three. If you put it on clothes, it lasts 5 or 6 hours. Its reputation is justified: a great perfume for a good price. On skin it lasts 7 or 8 hours, on clothes more than 12. If you’re between 25 and 40, a man who is formal or casual and moves away from loud scents, this could be your signature scent.
Exquisite fragrance. The opening is acidic lime and then leaves a soapy scent on the skin, reminding me of a rich soap that when I was little I sometimes licked. It evokes sensations. I see it as very versatile in age, weather and use. If you want to smell clean and different, go for it.
It was one of my first EDTs in the 2000s. I already thought it was clean, fresh and youthful back then. The bottle lasted four years. It took over a decade to smell it again. It’s a typical aromatic fougère. I love its citrus opening. If you’re looking for something timeless with good character, this fragrance could be your investment.
It was my first designer perfume at 20. A friend brought it from the US because they’re expensive here and sold in supermarkets there. I didn’t ask for it; it was what he had. I remember the sober, classic box and bottle, nothing pretentious or uncomfortable sprayers. It was love at first sniff. It unites everything I look for: good scent, masculine, long-lasting and versatile. That’s why I buy perfumes with common ingredients like D&G Pour Homme, Polo Black or Sauvage. It’s classic but falling out of use. It opens strong with citrus, an aromatic, green and floral heart, and closes with soft woods and amber. It always smells clean. It’s an all-rounder: it never clashes. It lasts 12 hours on skin and projects for 2 hours. It smells masculine, not unisex. My girlfriend always said it ‘smelled like a man’ and bought me another bottle. It’s not for everyone because many seek something sweet, but it smells good and is unique. At 33, I still use it; I have four bottles. It’s my scent of choice. People say it smells like me. There’s an emotional connection, although I admit there are others of better quality like Dior Homme Intense. Everyone should try it at least once.
It seems like a mix of several perfumes. I’d never tried it before. It has several phases: at first, it smells like Paco Rabanne XS and Adolfo Dominguez, but that citrus opening doesn’t last long. Then comes a phase I don’t like. After that, it reminds me of Versace Blue Jeans with that vanilla lavender I detest (though I won’t admit it). It lasts a couple of hours until the third phase, which is the best and smells like Chanel Egoiste Platinum. It’s timeless, unsurprising but perfect if you like these fragrances.
It’s one of the first designer perfumes I remember from childhood. I bought it two years ago and it ran out in 2023. It smells similar to the original, but it doesn’t have the beastly performance of the 90s. Its blend of citrus and flowers is rich, with a soft woody base. Calvin Klein should release this today; it would be a bomb against current expensive perfumes. Before, it was a symbol of power worn by bosses; now it’s a rich scent that doesn’t mark clothes and lasts well.
It fits perfectly. It might seem like it’s from another era, but that is its greatest virtue. It’s fresh, clean and pleasant for everyone on hot days. Versatile for any age or level of formality, comforting and fairly priced. It’s the reference for 90s summers, just like Polo Sport. It enters citrusy without being acidic, with lavender, a heart of geranium and cilantro (some notice it soapy, others citrusy) and a floral woody base. It doesn’t need neon lights; there’s always someone who enjoys its presence. A good option.
My partner wears this every day in summer and it smells amazing in the heat. It’s a 90s classic that never goes out of fashion, made with real quality. Although it sounds ‘old’, it smells youthful and is designed for men aged 28 to 45. Ideal for the office because it doesn’t overpower; it’s fresh, clean and timeless. I recommend it 100% if you’re looking for freshness without being loud.
Honestly, I understand all the comments; this fragrance is essential in any collection. It’s eternal love.
A classic, citrusy, herbal, fresh fragrance that reflects a neat, determined man who knows what he wants. I wore it as a teenager and found it too refined and strong for my age. Now, in my thirties, it’s an excellent choice for formal dates or suit-and-tie events. It reminds me a lot of Chanel Platinum Égoiste. I’d buy it again just as a pleasant memory of my first perfumes and for collection purposes, although it has been slightly reformulated.
Perfection, masculinity, elegance, style. Similar to Banana Republic for Men but with better longevity and a more refined look. I’ll keep buying this until I move on.
Without a doubt, one of those iconic nineties perfumes that remains perfect for a summer day. It makes you feel fresh and clean, even if you’ve been sweating under the sun. I first bought it in 2006 and remember it being more oily and thick. Perhaps the reformulations have resulted in a more liquid EDT.
To me, Eternity EDT has always seemed a conservative scent, a bit old-man-ish and dull, fresh yet lacking any zesty summer spark. I still feel the same way today, but now it strikes me as overly generic, something everyone knows, dated and even bordering on tacky without quite being cheap department store perfume. It smells of cheap geraniol with an absurdly short lifespan; after twenty minutes, you can’t even detect it on the skin, let alone the projection, which is weaker than a Mimosin punch. Has it been reformulated downwards? Probably, but from what I remember, the old batches from the 90s I knew didn’t last or project much either, maxing out at around 4-5 hours. Personally, I’m done wasting time hunting for vintage batches like a madman. Any compliments? Not a chance. Today this is a total unisex scent; regarding its masculinity, it has about as much as a Presbyterian priest. The good news is the price, which isn’t very high. If you truly like it, go straight for the EDP version; for me, it smells better, more modern, and at least you’ll get 4-5 hours out of it. If not, grab any of the 100,000 designer fragrances currently on the market at the same or better price.
It was my first expensive perfume when I was 13 or 14, back around 1990-91, and I remember it with fondness because a cousin who came from the USA to Mexico left me a full, intact bottle. I used it quite a bit, but it was my second expensive perfume, OBSESSION FOR MEN from the same brand, that gave me the final blow and became the perfume of my life. Now, at nearly 50, I would not wear Eternity again, even if gifted; now it feels heavy, jarring, super-generic without personality and quite annoying. It brings back nice memories of my adolescence and secondary school, but in stark contrast to its brother OBSESSION FOR MEN, which remains and will remain a sacred cow of perfumery and a totem of mystical beauty.
I was gifted this perfume for my birthday; a wonderful discovery. Upon first trying it, I automatically got a whiff of aftershave; that is what Eternity smells of: masculinity, elegance and cleanliness. Being very young, I say it doesn’t seem at all outdated or passé to me; I like it and enjoy wearing it. The performance is good, easily six hours on the skin, and the trail is average. A good fragrance, good value for money; I recommend giving it a try.
Very commercial, very mass-market. Very good, very rational. A Toyota. If you prefer a carburetted Harley Davidson, a Jeep Wrangler, an Audi A6, or a vintage Alfa Romeo Spider, this fragrance will mean nothing to you. It is very good, very rational, very serious, very formal, very ‘what it should be’… too much.
It smells nice, but it lacked character. I owned it in the nineties and never bought it again…
Summer floral 🤙
I own almost 100 perfumes, yet this has become my signature scent. I’ve always loved vintage fragrances, and Eternity possesses that crispness and old-world elegance reminiscent of Dior’s Eau Sauvage (without copying it), yet lacking the old-school hardness of seventies classics like Polo Green or Azzaro. Here, lavender and citrus take centre stage; it feels like a 1990s Eau Sauvage compared to the original from the sixties. Out of all my perfumes, this is the one that identifies me most. It ran out, and I’ve already repurchased it to ensure I never go without. Yes, it doesn’t last long, and it’s certainly been reformulated, but in this case, I couldn’t care less.
September 2012 (I’m a novice, don’t kill me). What stands out most at first is the lemon and bergamot; then the lavender comes in. After 10-15 minutes and once settled, the lavender predominates with a floral touch. Half an hour in, I notice a bit of wood, maintaining that floral-woody blend for several hours until the flowers die away and only the wood remains. Duration: On my skin, 2-3 hours of projection, receding gradually and noticeable for about 7-8 hours depending on the weather, lasting up to 10-12 hours on clothes. On fabric, it lasts several days, but it’s noticeable the same as on skin. Projection and trail: Average; with a few drops it has good projection of 1 to 1.5 metres and an acceptable trail. Its strength is the personal bubble. Age: A bit mature but doesn’t smell old. I’d only use it for ages 15-20 on occasions that require it. Season: It screams for spring and is also suitable for summer on days that aren’t excessively hot. Time: Morning and midday. Occasions: Depends on age; for under-20s, it works well for formal events if you’re dressed up; for older people, it’s ideal for daily wear, going out, or special events, but it requires dressing well. Value for money: 7/10. Conclusion: It’s a good perfume, smells clean and exudes vintage elegance without smelling old-fashioned, suitable for daily wear and special occasions. I recommend testing it before buying as it’s a bit outdated.
Tested with a few drops. Smells cheap, fresh, and soulless. There are better options.
Eternity for Men by Calvin Klein. Legendary, with a reputation to live up to. Fresh and citrusy, with a vintage air. Notes of tangerine and basil with a good opening, but the heart notes are weak, lasting no more than 2-3 hours on the skin. The trail and projection fade after the first hour, but it’s a perfume that is loved by many. It’s one of the three Calvin Klein scents I’d buy again. If you can get it at a good price, it’s a safe purchase. Rating: 8/10
A classic that doesn’t last a minute. Smells clean and fresh. There are better options, both from Arab brands and others; this brand is very sporty and scarce… the scent is very personal.
February 2025. I’d forgotten about this perfume and had stopped caring about Mr Klein and his derivatives; I’d got tired of them. But by magic, I remembered using it in the 90s and how much I liked it. The memory was triggered by returning to Foz do Iguaçú after 30 years and passing through Ciudad del Este to buy whatever. I walked into a shopping centre and felt obliged to buy it again without even testing it. A few days later in Foz, I tried the Eau de parfum, and that’s the one to get: much more intense and, above all, longer-lasting. The old version lasted almost a week in the suitcase; the new one, apart from not resembling it at all (previously it was more metallic and sweet, now it’s citrus/herbal/floral), doesn’t last anything like that, just a few hours on the skin. It’s more formal and mature, but it feels half-baked.
I like it, but it smells a bit like grandpa, something for people over 30. It doesn’t last long, but as it’s cheap, I recommend it 👏
A classic green scent that everyone knows, but it remains enjoyable. Better to grab it at a discount: it lasts longer and smells almost the same. It has citrus, basil, and a touch of musky wood…
Not for me; it’s too herbal. I admit it smells elegant and classic, but it just doesn’t suit me. It’s not for young people, more for gentlemen or formal occasions. I tried it as a tester and had to wash my skin afterwards, but bear in mind: it’s not a bad perfume, just not for me.
Smells nice, but it vanishes in a flash. Not worth it.
I still have a little left in a bottle from 1995. It was perfect, with great longevity and trail. The current version smells the same for five minutes and then fades. Terrible longevity. Another fragrance they’ve ruined. European perfume houses are cheating their customers.
The quintessential 90s icon fragrance. I smelled it as a child and now, after 20 years, I decided to buy it myself. I also own the EDP which I like and has more body, but it gives me a headache, something that has never happened before. That’s why I bought the EDT, which is lighter and more wearable for everyday use. I agree that the longevity is scarce and it only lasts if your sense of smell is particularly fond of it. But for 40 euros in Austria, even with better performance, it has a distinctive DNA. It’s worth it for me, yes. I would recommend it, probably not.
A fragrance that a lover of herbal scents simply cannot be without. Eternity by Calvin Klein is an artist at creating white, wearable, and easy-to-use fragrances. They often rely too much on easy-to-understand scents, and this is no exception, making it one of the brand’s best. It’s a citrus-aromatic fragrance that offers freshness and maturity: it greets you with marked lavender and citrus, then moves to a bouquet of flowers and slightly spicy herbs, before settling into the ruggedness of vetiver and white sandalwood. A great 90s fragrance that doesn’t go out of style.
What does it smell like? They say 300 km/h, but to me it’s like a Yanbal Temptation. It’s very fresh and citrusy, more classic than Calvin Klein. The Temptation I owned was very heavy, but this one isn’t; it meets all expectations despite being a 90s classic.
A brilliant fragrance if only it lasted longer. Nevertheless, it’s nothing modern. It projects very well, it’s fresh and clean for everyday wear, you can’t go wrong.
One of the richest fragrances I’ve tried; I love the scent… it’s a 90s classic. I was born in 1983, my father owned it between 1991 and 1993, and I used to apply it to go to school at age nine. I bought it in 1995 on a trip to the US, then in 2013 a colleague brought it back from there. Today I bought the 45% concentrated extract and it smells exactly like the 1991 batch; it brought back memories of those school days. It smells great on me now.
A good perfume, but it doesn’t last long.
It’s fresh, sweet, and delicate, with a woody floral base and citrus notes. Its trail is discreet, and depending on the day, it can fade away; it’s no longer as long-lasting.
While it has that classic fougère profile, it doesn’t smell old-fashioned; it does demand a certain maturity and presence when worn. Eternity brings us the wonderful 90s with that clean, neat, soapy gentleman style. I won’t be buying it again as my taste has moved elsewhere, but I’m delighted to have known it.
It’s a fairly average and unappealing fragrance. If you’re over 50, it’s ideal for everyday wear, but if you’re young and looking for something modern that stands out, this isn’t your option.
