  • I wasn’t very confident in this Zara fragrance, now that everyone is jumping on the oud bandwagon (even Axe!), but I tested it in the shop and… bingo. It thrilled me and I haven’t put on anything else since. It’s an oud fragrance in abundance, without combining it with rose, which is a relief. It’s an oud that isn’t too raw, to the Western taste, woody and not too medicinal, with notes of tobacco and smoke. The result is refined and addictive. They say it resembles Oud Royal by Armani, but I don’t know. It smells expensive (17€) and distinguished. The fixation is good and the projection correct, without being invasive. It has surprised me and I recommend buying it. Note: 9/10.

  • Natural oud is very expensive. There are two ways to get it: inject a tree with a fungus so it secretes the substance (cheaper) or wait for a tree to produce it naturally (more expensive and with a different scent). Then there’s the method of synthesising it in a lab, which is the most used, I suppose 90% or more. Similarly, authentic oud is one of the most expensive ingredients in the industry.

  • Life does surprise you. I’ve been ranting about Zara colognes for a year, calling them mediocre, with the exception of Cedar Wood. But this Oud and Tobacco is excellent. It’s a clean, woody oud with a slight smoky note, without floral additions, which I appreciate. It reminds me of Wonderwood by Comme des Garçons and 2 Man, but without the aldehydes of the latter. I’ve mixed it with 2 Man, and the Zara Oud wins on projection. Oud lovers won’t dismiss it, but if you don’t like the ingredient, don’t bother trying it.

  • I don’t know where you’ll buy it, but I visited two Zara stores in Madrid and another in Ciudad Real and they didn’t have it. They didn’t even know about it.

  • No need to say more; the previous reviews explain everything. It’s a brilliant, cheerful, and sexy oud with a slight but clean medicinal touch, ambrosiac and sharp without being invasive. It smells like Parisian orientalism from the good old days, unisex without any complexes. It starts bubbly, camphoraceous, with exotic fruits and sweet tobacco. As it evolves, the wood settles, sometimes reminding me of 2 Man by Comme des Garçons, though to me it leans more towards M7, without so much sweetness. At 17€, it feels sparkling and rebellious. The initial projection is strong and the duration acceptable. The bottle is ugly and the sprayer poor, but the content forgives any marketing. It arrived by post and was a great surprise.

  • After testing ‘Rich Warm Addictive’ with very high expectations and then getting saturated, I went into this one with somewhat low expectations, just in case, but when I tried it… I walked away with a bottle. I can’t say anything that my fellow reviewers haven’t already said; I can only add: WOW! WOW! WOW! There have been moments where it reminded me of Amber Wood by Monotheme, and even though they don’t share notes, it came to my mind while I was testing it, yes, only in the opening; the opening of this perfume is another world. Longevity and trail worthy of much more expensive perfumes; I can’t find any faults; I liked it a lot; I recommend at least tasting it; it doesn’t disappoint; I hope Zara continues to release such great perfumes at this price point.

  • Spurred by your comments, I went to Zara yesterday to see if I could find it. I found it and bought it. I’ve tested countless fragrances with Oud in search of one to replace my beloved M7 by YSL. I still haven’t found it… In my opinion, this fragrance might have more Guaiac wood than Oud, although it may have both, but undoubtedly its Oud is very, very subtle. It reminded me quite a bit of Guerlain’s L’Homme Ideal Eau de Parfum. I find the same smell of almonds and cherry or medicinal syrup and a certain hint of incense and tonka. Perhaps it’s a bad perception on my part, but it’s as if it were a version of L’Homme Ideal that is less sweet and more woody, but with the same base. An excellent fragrance that pleasantly surprises in Zara but suffers from a weak trail, as it goes from moderate (less than 1 hour) to death at skin level (after 1 hour of application). I imagine that, as with many fragrances, over-applying would yield better trail results. Of considerable longevity, as last night before bed I applied it to my hand and 9 hours later it still smells faintly if I press my nose close. Should I recommend buying it? Considering its price and where it can be acquired, yes. Personally, it has surprised me quite a lot for the better. Since scoring is the trend now, I’ll say: Rating: 8/10.

  • The description of Zara’s EXCLUSIVE OUD is brief and lamentable. I detect rose, saffron, patchouli, oud, vanilla, and tonka bean. Its placement in the woody oriental family is perfect. It evokes essences from the Emirates like Rasasi and Al Haramain, and even some Amouage. It’s my type of family: oriental, woody, spicy, deep, mysterious, voluptuous, sensual, smoky, and tobacco-laden. Discretion isn’t my virtue, and this perfume delivers. It’s high quality with perfect balance and excellent evolution, nothing to envy from a designer or niche oud. It’s not thick or overly spicy. I’ve smelled ouds from Dubai that immerse you in a market of black olives with cumin, cloves, turmeric, saffron, pepper, oregano, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, tobacco, smoke, vinegar… Zara’s is westernised, sweetened, ambered, and wrapped in French boudoir packaging. It’s elegant and sophisticated, in the line of Shalimar or L’Instant. There’s no point seeking niche ouds at astronomical prices. Why bother when we have this at an affordable price? Scent: wonderful. Sillage: moderate to high. Longevity: high. Performance: high. Price-to-quality ratio: excellent. Use: evening and winter.

  • The brevity of the description on the EXCLUSIVE OUD fiche is a bit lamentable. It’s true that this perfume doesn’t contain too many notes, but at least I detect rose, saffron, patchouli, oud, vanilla, and tonka bean. Its placement in the oriental woody family is perfect. It evokes a wide range of essences from the Emirates by Rasasi and Al Haramain, and I’ve even heard of some Amouage that repeats these notes entirely. I have to admit that it’s the type of olfactory family that works for me: oriental, woody, spiced, deep, mysterious, powerful, voluptuous, sensual, smoky, tobacco-like… in short, why continue? I think I’ve made myself understood. Olfactory discretion is not one of my virtues, and Zara’s EXCLUSIVE OUD responds exactly to that. I consider it a high-quality fragrance; with a perfectly balanced aromatic profile; with a very well-crafted opening, development, and dry-down that has nothing to envy an oud by a designer or niche house. It’s not a thick or overly spiced oud. I’ve heard of Dubai ouds I love but that plunge you into a market of black olives seasoned with cumin, cloves, turmeric, saffron, pepper, oregano, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, tobacco, smoke, vinegar, and who knows how many more things. The oud in Zara’s EXCLUSIVE OUD is westernised, sweetened, ambered, and wrapped in a French boudoir package. It is elegant and sophisticated. It falls in line ideologically with a Shalimar or an L’Instant. Careful, I don’t mean it resembles them in its aromatic notes, but rather that the aura of elegance and bouquet is in that position! It’s not worth scouring for niche or designer ouds at astronomical prices. Why bother if we have this fragrance so affordable? Scent: wonderful, in my line of oriental tastes. Trail: moderate-to-high. Longevity: high. Performance: high. Price-to-quality ratio: excellent. Use: night/winter.

  • Very good fragrance from Zara; the Oud feels strong and stands out among the other notes. The trail is very modest, however, like almost all Zara fragrances, but at those prices, you can afford to reapply as many times as you like.

  • Tremendously good this Exclusive Oud in relation to its price. If I had to define it with three words, they would be: woody, spiced, and warm. More than Oud, I perceive Guaiac wood integrated with a good dose of saffron and cinnamon; definitely, it also has a sweet note, I’m debating between vanilla and tonka bean, but I’d say the former. The perfume has a certain medicinal/balsamic aftertaste, reminiscent of the sensation YSL’s M7 provoked. The truth is, on skin, it’s tremendously warm and seductive, and although I don’t like much attributing human characteristics to a perfume, undoubtedly it has a halo of mystery because there is no fragrance in designer perfumery that resembles it. Well, I lie, yes there is, Oud Royale by Armani Privé, but it’s not something one smells very often. The performance is fantastic, 8 hours on skin without flinching, with a projection of approximately 2 hours. Frankly, it’s a joy of a perfume.

  • A perfume that provides a tester, nothing more, because it’s unavailable; it’s a pity. It’s a great perfume, believe me, Zara created this jewel, and I only have that 3ml tester left to smell…

  • Zara, please, bring it back!!! It was an excellent alternative for those of us who love Oud. An unbeatable price-to-quality ratio. Those oriental woody scents were executed brilliantly, with great longevity and projection, yet not invasive. I really hope Zara restocks it in their upcoming launches; it’s missed terribly.

  • Zara, please, bring it back. It was an excellent alternative for oud enthusiasts. Unbeatable price-to-quality ratio. That woody oriental scent is very well crafted, with great longevity and projection, yet not invasive. I hope Zara reissues it in upcoming launches; we’re missing it.

  • Zara Exclusive Oud. I’ve had this since its launch but never reviewed it, waiting for a re-release so as not to tempt people who might not be able to buy it. As Zara doesn’t seem to be bringing it back, I decided to rediscover it. The opening is a saffron bomb with leather notes and an animalic feel. Gradually, the oud takes centre stage, accompanied by sweet notes, vanilla, caramel, and a chocolatey patchouli. It’s high quality, superior to its price point, and could easily pass for niche. There are no jarring notes; everything is well-blended. A discontinued gem. On skin, it lasts 16 hours. Projection is strong for the first six hours; once I made everyone on the bus smell me. Suitable only for winter and evening wear; it has a mysterious aura. I see it as more masculine, though it depends on the skin. If you want more reviews, check out my Instagram and YouTube.

  • Zara Exclusive Oud. Well, I’ve had this since day one but refused to review it because I hoped they’d re-release it to avoid causing anxiety for those who can’t buy it once it’s discontinued. But seeing as Zara has no intention of bringing it back, I’ve sat down to rediscover it and share my thoughts. It hits like a bomb of saffron, giving a warm, animalic touch to the nose. The oud appears quickly, initially masked by the saffron, but gradually takes over, accompanied by sweet notes—I believe vanilla, caramel, and a chocolate-faced patchouli. It’s a quality jewel, infinitely superior to the price; it could easily pass for niche without issues. There are no harsh spikes or discordant accords; everything is perfectly blended. A true Zara jewel that was, sadly, discontinued. In my tests, I found a similarity with my most recent perfume love, which I’ll review soon. The performance is beastly; on skin, it lasts a full 16 hours comfortably. It projects strongly for the first 6 hours with a potent trail; once I wore it (4 sprays), I could smell it on everyone until I got on the bus. I recommend it only for winter and nightwear; it has an aura of mystery and darkness that demands nocturnality. I see it as more masculine than feminine, but everyone should try it—it can look good on female skin if she likes perfumes of this style.
