  1. Golden Nose

Good afternoon, my first review as I’m wearing it today and feel compelled to share. It opens with citrus, a sparkling orange that yields to resins and tea, the latter being very prominent. The rose is barely noticeable, perhaps a dry floral note in the background to add roundness. Minutes later, the dry-down reveals a resinous blend of cypress and ecclesiastical incense, evolving into darker, smoky and woody tones. This incense-cypress duo reminds me of Loewe’s old No. 7, the one in the blue cylindrical bottle I used years ago, whose memory remains vivid. I recommend it for autumn and winter, more suitable for daytime than evening, with semi-formal or elegant attire. To my nose, it’s unisex leaning towards masculine, though it would certainly suit a woman perfectly. It’s a fragrance that embraces and creates warmth. The longevity is good, around seven hours, with three hours of projection and a delicious sillage before settling close to the skin. It lasts much longer on clothes, even days later on a coat. I emphasise the sillage over the projection, and the narcotic effect it leaves on others rather than the compliments. Details: five sprays, seven-hour longevity, one metre projection (three hours), moderate trail, very present sillage, rating seven, originality five, versatility six, winter/autumn climate, daytime wear, masculine-leaning unisex, over thirty years old, 1.2€/ml.
