If Black Orchid feels heavy to you but you still like it, this is for you. Being lighter gives it more versatility and it could be your signature scent. But be aware, it will always be in the shadow of Tom Ford.
If Black Orchid feels heavy to you but you like it, this is for you. Being lighter gives it more versatility and it could be your signature scent. But beware, it will always live in the shadow of Tom Ford.
It’s a soft floral with rose and violet, vanilla base, and a touch of patchouli. It doesn’t smell like YSL Paris as I expected; here it’s less powdery and more resinous. I find it very wearable and pretty. At first, it reminds me of Tom Ford’s Orchid family, but when tested side by side, it’s different: Flower Fusion is more floral and soft, whereas Velvet is more intense and sweet, and Black is deeper and chocolatey. This is like an EDT version without the honey of Velvet or the truffle of Black. It leaves a soft trail and lasts 5-6 hours. The drawback is the projection, which is low on my skin, so I have to apply a lot. At this price, it shouldn’t pass, although I bought it very cheaply. The packaging, as always with El Mercader, is a marvel. Scent 7/10 Longevity 5.5/10 Sillage 4/10 Value for money 4.5/10 Versatility 6.5/10 Packaging 9/10 Would I buy it again? Yes, if I find it on sale.

I tried this brand for a couple of months, and while none of them repelled me, Flower Fusion is simply not for me. At first, it smells just like Tom Ford’s Velvet Orchid due to that super-sweet bourbon vanilla, but by the end of the day, it transforms into a pink-floral with patchouli. Ultimately, it settles as a fresh bouquet with a rounder vanilla note thanks to the opoponax. It lasted around 8 hours and projected well. I see it as ideal for fresh days, whether going out or dinner. It’s gorgeous and blends beautifully into the skin, although my partner and brother say it smells ‘old lady’ due to the florals. Externally, the bottles are works of art and the packaging is top; at this price, it’s a fantastic gift. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 6/10 Original: 6/10
I spent a couple of months testing this brand, and although none made me gag, Flower Fusion is one I just don’t get. At first, it smells like Tom Ford’s Velvet Orchid due to that super sweet bourbon vanilla, but by the end of the day, it becomes a pink-patchouli floral. Ultimately, it settles as a fresh bouquet with rounder vanilla thanks to the labdanum. It lasted about 8 hours and projected well. I see it as ideal for fresh days, whether going out or dinner. It’s gorgeous and sinks into the skin, although my partner and brother say it smells like grandma due to the florals. On the outside, the bottles are works of art and the packaging is top; at this price, it’s a fantastic gift. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 6/10 Original: 6/10
