About Harrow
Harrow by Jinx Smells: A Smoky, Powdery Oriental Vanilla
Jinx Smells launches Harrow as a new Oriental Vanilla fragrance for men and women. It arrives in 2026 and offers an unusual balance of white flowers, smoke, coffee and sweet resin.
The opening uses white lily, tobacco, clove and smoke, while the heart is built on vanilla, cocoa, coffee and iris. Beneath it all sit amber, resins, sandalwood, white musk and birch tar, which give the perfume a deep, almost mysterious finish.
Harrow opens with a brief clash: the milky-sweet white lily is quickly joined by tobacco and clove, and a faint smoke curls through the top. It feels like a warm room with a window left open.
The heart is more indulgent. Vanilla and cocoa are present but not cloying, and the coffee gives a slight roasted edge. Iris brings back a powdery restraint, which stops the blend from becoming too heavy.
The base then wraps everything in amber and resins, with creamy sandalwood and clean white musk. Birch tar adds the real signature: a smoky, leather-like nuance that stays on the skin for hours.
Harrow performs well. It has solid sillage and sits close enough to be discovered, then re-emerges as it dries down. The effect is sophisticated rather than loud.
Early rating data shows a score of 3.86 out of 5 from seven ratings, suggesting it will find its biggest fans among those who appreciate a darker take on vanilla.
Those who enjoy rich oriental scents, especially fans of powdery florals, gourmand cocoa and smoky woods, will get the most from Harrow.
Harrow is a striking example of how vanilla can be both comforting and edgy. It feels simultaneously soft, spicy and smoky, and is an excellent match for cool evenings.
