Descripción

Historic Olmeda by Afnan is a spicy aromatic fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2022, this composition is signed by perfumer Imran Fazlani. The top notes of grapefruit, pink pepper, juniper, and cardamom open the way; the heart reveals Calabrian bergamot, cedar, nutmeg, and jasmine; while the base settles on ambergris, musk, apple, and patchouli.

I absolutely love it; it smells incredible, though I feel it’s more suited to an older demographic and carries a very similar vibe to Sauvage.

Although it’s a strange comparison, this fragrance is like a multi-tool that joins top blues but results in a poorly executed aroma. No matter how much I test it, it smells like insecticide or chemical repellent, in the style of Kalan by PDM. Basically, I haven’t liked it and it doesn’t seem like a good alternative to smell different from classic blues. That said, longevity and trail are very good, at least 5 hours with strong projection in the first 2. I would recommend the Ejaazi by Lattafa much more (it costs three times less: €15) or, for the same price, the Bleu de Chanel clone: Armaf Blue Iconic.

I don’t understand all the hate for this masterpiece if you want compliments of a feminine nature. DON’T THINK ABOUT IT ANY MORE, JUST BUY IT.

I don’t know why there is so much hate on this marvel if you want compliments from the female gender. DON’T THINK ABOUT IT ANYMORE, JUST BUY IT.

  • Finally, I bought it, and I admit it was more for the beautiful bottle; my blind buy. Obviously, the perfume is wonderful, smells expensive, and everyone likes it; women go crazy for it. The content is similar to others but better crafted by Olmeda; I have several Arab fragrances with similarities to Bleu Chanel and Dylan Blue, but here the cardamom, green apple, and ambergris hit hard in the opening and mark territory, which may clash with some and enchant others. I liked it for cold afternoons; it’s a jewel that makes you stand out. Although it’s at a high price, it already has a secured formula and blinded fans. It’s an interesting dupe, even more potent, somewhat synthetic, and leaves the skin a bit oily. The aroma can repeat at parties. For originality, 5/10; potency, 9/10; price, 7/10; and aromatic bubble, 1.5 metres; longevity, 3 hours before dropping to 9 hours and still feeling your scent. Rating: 7/10.

  • Starting with the positives: beautiful presentation; the photos don’t do it justice. Magnetic box, solid bottle, well-made, and a decent atomiser. Good blue aroma, soapy, clean, and fresh. I won’t delve into notes as everyone perceives them differently. Now the negatives: if you’re looking for a cheap dupe of Bleu de Chanel or Dylan Blue, it’s in the middle, leaning more towards Dylan. Does it resemble? Yes, but it doesn’t even reach the heels of the Dylan Blue, which has more presence, potency, and a better-crafted aroma. This Olmeda smells muted, as if you were smelling a mix of Dylan and Bleu through a closed bottle. It’s not a bad aroma, it smells good, but for this style, I recommend the Iconic by Armaf more, although it’s slightly pricier and lacks the Dylan DNA. Conclusion: want a cheap Dylan? Go for the Olmeda or complete what’s missing to buy the original Dylan. Want a cheap Bleu? The Armaf Iconic does very well. Want less sharp citrus but with that blue DNA? Go for the Olmeda. Want a pretty presentation, good aroma, and good price? The Historic Olmeda will leave you very happy.

  • To start with the positives: the presentation is stunning, the photos simply don’t do it justice. Magnetic box, solid and well-made bottle, decent atomiser. It smells soapy, clean and fresh. I won’t delve into notes as everyone perceives them differently. Now the downsides: if you’re looking for a cheap dupe of Bleu de Chanel or Dylan Blue, this sits in the middle, leaning more towards Dylan. Does it resemble them? Yes, but it doesn’t even come close to Dylan, which has more potency and a better-crafted scent. This Olmeda feels muted, as if smelling a mix of Dylan and Bleu through a closed bottle. It’s not a bad scent, it smells good, but for this style, I’d recommend Armaf’s Iconic instead, even if it’s slightly pricier. In summary: want a cheap Dylan Blue? Go for the Historic Olmeda, or better yet, save up for the original as the price difference isn’t huge. Want a cheap Bleu de Chanel? Armaf’s Iconic does the job very well. Want something less sharp but with that blue DNA? You’ll love the Olmeda. Seeking good presentation, scent and value? The Historic Olmeda will leave you very happy.

  • STGO.DECANT

Tremendously potent. The nutmeg is very noticeable upon drying; I recommend a maximum of four sprays. The first time I applied almost 15, and the house smelled in every room; my wife noticed me from five metres away and asked me to use less. It doesn’t resemble the Dylan Blue much; this Afnan is denser, whereas the Versace is fresher and easier for heat. Recommended.

  • STGO.DECANT

This perfume is incredibly potent. The nutmeg becomes very noticeable as it dries down, and I recommend a maximum of four sprays. The first time I applied nearly fifteen and the house smelled for miles. My wife told me I smelled too strong with too much nutmeg and advised me to use less next time. It doesn’t resemble Dylan Blue much; this Afnan is denser, whereas the Versace is fresher and easier to wear in the heat. Recommended.

  • It smells incredible, with a seductive and masculine character. It’s versatile, ideal for everyday wear and different seasons, although avoid extreme heat to experience it best. It lasts quite a while with moderate to notable sillage, projecting elegantly without being intrusive. It belongs to the blue family, fresh and modern, an interesting and accessible alternative to similar designer fragrances. Thanks to its balance of quality, versatility and price, it’s a great option for those seeking something fresh and masculine for multiple occasions. Rating: 7/10.

  • Extremely pleasant, seductive, and masculine. Versatile for everyday wear and different seasons, though in extreme heat it may not be perceived as well. Solid longevity with a notable trail; elegant without being invasive. It belongs to the blue family due to its clean freshness and modern touches, an interesting and accessible alternative to designer brands. Thanks to its balance of quality, versatility, and price, it’s an excellent option for those seeking something fresh and masculine. Rating: 7/10.

Ideal for the office or meetings, it’s super versatile and elegant. It’s not for seduction; it’s for going impeccable! You’ll receive compliments like ‘you smell great’, which make people feel comfortable. It lasts and projects a lot: Arab quality that performs like a champion.

  • Look, if you want to smell neat and tidy without spending a fortune, go for the Historic Olmeda by Afnan! It gives that sensation of freshness and cleanliness, perfect for projecting confidence all day. Ideal for the office, work and casual meetings. It’s super versatile and elegant, not for seducing, it’s for looking impeccable! Be warned, you’ll receive compliments, but of the ‘you smell great’ or ‘what a lovely perfume’ variety, not the romantic kind. It simply makes people feel comfortable around you. And the best part: it lasts and projects a lot. It’s Arab quality that performs like a champion.

  • Very good. While Dylan gave me an old-man vibe and I adore the Blue de Chanel, I sought something different and what a find. This Olmeda is masculine, aromatic, and fresh, radiating a confident, clean man. I atomised it last night and after 13 hours, I can still smell it close to the skin. I’m not using it daily yet to check the trail, but the initial sensations are top-notch.

  • Tested on a decant and highly recommended. It smells clean, masculine, and fresh, ideal for everything. My next purchase is guaranteed: it’s one of those scents that removes the worry of wearing it daily because it always pleases. I’ve received compliments and people have asked what I’m wearing. Good longevity and an acceptable price.

I tested it after weeks of hesitation: the opening is clean and pleasant, but after five minutes, I detect a load of ambroxan that I simply don’t tolerate, even if it doesn’t smell bad; it’s just not my taste. I quit The Office four months ago for that same heavy note. Interestingly, I absolutely love the dry-down after hours.
