I can’t believe it, this perfume has truly won me over. I already owned Princess and while I liked it, I felt it was too similar to Kissing. Rose de Mai is on another level entirely, an absolute marvel. It opens with a fresh, sparkling rose with a spicy ginger note, but the mind-blowing part is the 360-degree twist: it transforms into a caramel custard and marshmallow cake with fresh rose petals. Although the bottle doesn’t list tonka and vanilla, I’m certain they’re there. The tea is barely noticeable but gives it that green herbal touch. What a work of art Kilian has created; the only downside is that hardly anyone knows about it.
