Imagination by Louis Vuitton is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men. Launched in 2021, this olfactive composition was created by perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The olfactive pyramid unfolds with top notes of citron, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian orange; a heart of Tunisian neroli, Nigerian ginger and Ceylon cinnamon; and a base evoking Chinese black tea, ambroxan, guaiac wood and frankincense.

  • @SebastianP if you’re going to review another perfume, do it in the corresponding one, don’t rate this perfume here for its cheap DUPE because it makes no sense, it’s like me going to review Naxos with a £30 dupe…but anyway, that’s a separate matter. I think it’s an excellent fragrance as a signature, less so for the obvious price, fresh, bright, long-lasting, I love it. For summer, rotating between this and a Torino 21 is a true pleasure. Cleanliness and summer in a bottle.

  • It starts with a sharp bergamot, softened by the cider and orange, which gain more prominence over time. It’s a very balanced, delicate, soft yet present opening. The heart and base are well combined; the ginger doesn’t bother at all and the neroli is exquisite, with a soft incense touch at the base. As it dries down, the sharpness lowers and it becomes sweeter. It’s so well harmonised that it seems like a simple fragrance. I consider it masculine, for daytime, spring, summer and autumn; it goes very well for both formal and informal occasions. The more I smell it, the more I want to pay the price…

I never thought a citrus and soft perfume could be so consistent and long-lasting. Now I can say that perfumes for warm weather that last a good time do exist. I’m just starting to try it and it’s going well on skin and clothes. I’ll continue testing its performance. The aroma is a perfect blend of citrus and neroli, the latter barely at the limit, it’s perfect. I thought the only quality Neroli was TF Neroli Portofino, but this one has arrived to challenge and stand at an advanced level. What a good perfume! Update: This is a work of art!! This is how ALL citrus floral – aromatic perfumes should be – things that last!! This is a sublime, soft, delicious aroma that lasts A FORTUNE!! Worth every penny. For now, my best citrus perfume with neroli for its aroma and longevity. Standing ovation!

  • Gatitomalbado

Clean, fresh aroma, very unisex, although the brand says it’s for men. A set of citrus notes that aren’t too sharp, with neroli, tea, ginger and Ceylon cinnamon, which is much more delicate and fresh than what we usually know. I have a decant and, although I use it a lot in the heat, I’m not sure I’d buy the full bottle, because on my skin after a short time it’s just black tea, guaiac wood and ambroxan left, which is what I dislike most. Also, the price puts me off a bit, to be honest. It evokes someone just out of the bath; that cleanliness is what gives it elegance, not especially formality. It can be used at any time if you want to smell clean. On me, the longevity is good and the trail moderate.

  • LarryCapija

It’s a fresh, generic citrus, a shame for the price. The same in another bottle for £30 and it becomes a solid 3 with all due respect, not the 4.5 (!!!!!!!) it has here. Is it tasty? Yes, now there’s no chance anyone smelling this would have their world changed. I bought a decant just for the hype to see what it was and what a disappointment. It has good quality, I won’t deny that, but it’s not an aroma or performance you’d find only in this perfume.

  • It’s soapy, but clean. In my opinion, it’s very unisex, even though they don’t say so… my wife uses it and it suits her well. With her, it seems like a feminine scent.

  • Imagination is fresh, luminous and modern, ideal for something elegant yet easy to wear. From the start, a clean, sparkling citrus opening from Calabrian bergamot, super refreshing and sophisticated. As it dries down, soft spicy notes emerge (ginger and Ceylon cinnamon) that give it body without losing its lightness. The special touch is the base with ambergris, which gives a marine, salty and enveloping sensation. It also has Chinese black tea, which adds depth without being heavy. 🧼 In summary: it smells of elegant cleanliness, a freshly ironed white shirt, and classy summer. It’s not invasive, but it lasts and projects with good taste. ✅ Ideal for: office, heat, meetings or dates. 👔 Style: masculine, fresh, sophisticated. 💰 Is it worth it? If you like clean perfumes with character, it’s an excellent luxury option.

  • SoyDemonic

I didn’t like it at all; it disappointed me greatly. It smells of super-concentrated orange and lemon, but that ‘strength’ is too much, almost insecticide-like. I just didn’t take to it :c

  • It’s a generic yet rich and versatile fragrance. Being light and soft, it’s suitable for anything. It lasts well, about two hours with a moderate trail that isn’t annoying. The orange is very noticeable, and I think there’s a hint of mint that I love 😋 It smells delicious and wearable. ‘I’d prefer more potency’ 💯% recommended 🕉️🕉️🕉️

The Imagination fragrance from Louis Vuitton offers a fresh and pleasant aroma with first-quality ingredients. But as happens with most citrus scents, its notes are very volatile and its performance is barely discreet. I consider the high price unjustified. Any perfume exceeding €200 should be well above average in performance; taste is subjective, but technical excellence should be unquestionable. Those of us with extensive collections will find it redundant to invest so much in a generic composition, easily replaceable by much cheaper alternatives. In that price bracket, I demand true excellence.

  • OpiumYSL

Wow, what boring fragrances from Louis Vuitton. Seriously, they are cheap copies of other perfumes. This one is no less a copy of Benetton Cold, and to think they are worth a fortune… this house is pulling our legs!

  • It feels clean with very elegant and soft citrus notes. You can tell the ingredients are high quality; I enjoyed it for 45 minutes on the skin, which was all it lasted. There are few fragrances that last for me, but this set a new record.

  • beto_ruiz

Louis Vuitton Imagination is a citrus, aromatic fragrance with a slightly talc-like touch. The opening smells rich, with citrus and floral neroli accords, almost like a classic cologne. Over time, spiced notes of ginger emerge, along with a wood and amber (ambroxan) base that gives it body and an aquatic sensation. That talc-like touch is also noticeable, reminiscent of baby powder, being pleasant and tender. It is a totally daytime fragrance, perhaps for afternoons, but ideal for daily use, the office, or casual outings, as it gives a sense of well-being. The longevity was good for a citrus; it lasted at least 8 hours with good presence and trail. The only drawback is its high retail price; if you catch it on discount, it is worth it, especially if you like citrus. If you have the opportunity to try it on skin, do not let it pass you by.

  • I have another tab open on Fragrantica for ‘Gucci Pour Homme II’, which unfortunately is no longer sold. I smelled Imagination and it reminded me of the Gucci, not by direct similarity, but by the feeling: in both, there is that exquisite, pleasant note of black tea. Those who have tried the Gucci will know what I mean. This LV leans more towards citrus, whereas the Gucci is greener. The price is relative; those who can afford the LV should go for it. Is it worth it? that is up to each person. In terms of scent, it smells SUBLIME, very well crafted, with decent performance, clean, elegant and classy. For me, it is worth it. The Gucci is a masterpiece and we will see how this LV ages. Best regards.

  • xavi40rios

This perfume disappointed me; it is vastly overrated. It smells like freshly mopped floor with chlorine. I would categorise it as a cologne from the Parfums de Louis Vuitton line rather than using this rubbish. I give it a solid 3/10.

  • Louis Vuitton Imagination is a citrus, aromatic fragrance with a slightly talc-like touch.

  • Antonio Tapia

It is the best fresh, spiced, and citrus perfume I have ever tried. I believe those who have reviewed it negatively have smelled it through a body odour.

  • Franco Palmisano

The hype for this perfume felt endless, but honestly, the quality and harmony of the notes are unreal. It is extremely expensive, of course, because you’re paying for the brand, the luxury, and above all, the excellence in its creation. It hurt my wallet, but I don’t regret it for a second. For going out in the heat, there is nothing better.

  • It’s a very fresh and refined citrus, with a blend of elegantly chosen citrus and woody scents. Fresh bergamot opening with other citrus and a sparkling touch of ginger; personally, it smells of citronella at first, although it’s not mentioned. Then woods and spices become perceptible. The stated tea adds an even fresher touch. Very unisex and versatile for daily wear or special moments (meeting, party). It lasts all day; it’s not cloying or extremely sweet, it’s fresh, sparkling, slightly ozonic, clean, and much more sophisticated as a high-end fragrance. It’s wonderful, with incredible longevity for a citrus. Summary: 6-8 hours longevity, projection over 1 metre, enveloping and lasting trail. Extremely versatile, unisex, and refined. Broad user profile: someone distinguished and stylish. Ideal for heat, but usable in any season. Easy to love and delicious. Reminds me of the beach or a party, a joyful moment. Would I buy it again? Blindly, yes.

  • EddieKenway

I don’t understand the hype for this perfume. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s not much of a thing either. I prefer Afternoon Swim, Pacific Chill, or L’Immensite over Imagination.

  • Pure citrus magic and clean elegance. Let’s talk about the great Imagination, a true masterpiece. If you’re bored with popular options like Sauvage or Bleu de Chanel and their clones, it’s worth trying. The opening is a delicious citrus explosion: bergamot, orange, and citron peel. Vibrant, it transmits cleanliness and vitality. After a few minutes, it evolves. Although it’s citrusy, neroli dominates the heart: refined and bright, better than Tom Ford’s in my tests. The ginger adds a fresh green note rather than a strong spice. The cinnamon is almost imperceptible, just there to round things off. The dry down is the magic: a green base note, Chinese black tea, a clean base with Ambroxan and guaiac wood. The trail is incredibly clean and effervescent. I had little faith in it after my experience with L’Immensité, but Imagination has won me over. It’s different from the common crowd, unisex, perfect for summer and any occasion in warm weather. Final note: 9.5/10. For me, it’s pure magic.

  • Pungent citrus notes balanced with tea and cinnamon. It conveys a sense of cleanliness without veering into laundry detergent territory. Surprisingly strong projection in the first few hours with good longevity.

  • Fascinating. Although it’s a masculine fragrance, I’ve received compliments whenever I wear it.

  • I tried some dupes and wondered about the hype; it seemed nice, but that was it. Oh God, when I finally smelled it in an LV store, it was love at first sight. It has a special touch; the black tea of the original is one of those scents that brightens your day. I don’t know if paying 400 dollars is worth it, but I’ll have to sleep on it. I don’t know about longevity and projection, but in terms of scent, it’s unmatched. No dupe comes close to the joy LV Imagination brings. I prefer it over Méteore by L’Immensité, of which I had higher expectations.

  • It’s overrated. Quite a common scent; after a few hours, it can remind you of baby powder, though not negatively. Personally, I enjoy it because it conveys peace, nonchalance, and relaxation. To my nose, it smells like cucumber + citrus on a base of clean luxury hotel sheets. I’ve proven that it tends to please men more than women. I don’t own it, only two 2ml original samples, but I wouldn’t buy it considering price and performance, as there are other fresher works that are more different and unique, such as Torino 21. Regarding dupes, Marwa is good for daily wear: fresh, with more ginger than Imagination, at a lower price and similar longevity. I give it 7 for the peace and cleanliness it conveys, without thinking about the price.

  • Martínvenezuela

I’m not sure what the community thinks, but after four hours dry down, Prada L’Homme seems remarkably similar to Imagination.

  • After trying almost all their dupes, none come close to its heels. It’s a fragrance that gives you a sense of calm when you wear it.

  • It smells good, lasts quite a while, and is beautiful, but… in my opinion, it’s not worth the price. It smells clean, soapy? That tea note ends up being cloying. I don’t know, stop listening to YouTubers saying it’s the panacea because it isn’t. No one will ask what you’re wearing; more than one person will say your detergent smells so rich, and you’ll look at them thinking: I’m wearing a 200-euro detergent.

  • SebastianC2702

Oh no, this is a perfume of gods… In my opinion, and after having about 100 perfumes in my collection, nothing surpasses this wonder. Crystalline, simple, and very classy. It has a three-dimensional aura in the trail that is very rich, it’s ethereal, and people wonder what smells like this… Very, very good.

  • Honestly, alongside Pacific Chill, this is the one I’ve been most eager to try. I always imagined its scent, as everyone says it’s basic and clean, and this changed my mind about summer perfumes. Although it smells like something you’ve probably heard before, it’s the best among soapy perfumes; one of the few LV scents lasting more than 6 hours on skin. It’s incredible: luxurious and clean without losing that basic base. When I wear it, I only think about how it makes me feel and about trying it again. I’m not sure if paying 300 euros is worth it; I’d like to buy dupes to see if they’re worth the money, but performance and scent will always be my top 1 from LV.

What can I say about this perfume that hasn’t been said before? Whether it’s great or not. Whether it’s overrated or not. Whether it’s worth paying $350 for it or not. I can only say that it smells incredible… Although I’m not a huge fan of citrus perfumes, I appreciate the evolution it has. The bergamot bomb with that touch of orange stays as the protagonist for the first 30 minutes, so that after the first hour, the famous ambroxan with tea, which most fans love in this fragrance, starts to stand out more. I smell this and it lifts my spirits, puts me in a good mood… it simply smells of absolute cleanliness. It lasts about 6-7 hours on skin, very decently. It projects a lot for the first hour; then the dry-down is perhaps more intimate, but it leaves traces of your scent wherever you are. Now, whether it’s worth it or not, for me it’s a totally personal matter.

  • I smelled it on a friend and thought it was madness, a beautiful citrus, masculine. Regarding money, it’s an extremely expensive perfume. If there is a good clone, I would say for me it’s a total blind buy.

  • Emilio Galván

I’ll try to be concise. In my experience, one of the best fragrances ever created in the history of perfumery. A clean, fresh, citrusy, soapy, and to a certain point aldehydic fragrance. Super versatile, with about 8 hours of good longevity on skin, and up to 10 as a skin scent, especially on clothes, obviously. It projects for the entire life of the fragrance. Now, the notes: a prominent black tea note, which personally I love in perfumes with tea; it makes it a bit herbal, deep, and full-bodied. It has a citron that for me is a very foamy and sparkling type of citrus. This soapy and clean DNA is given by the neroli, and some notes slightly similar to L’Immensité, like the ambroxan, sparkling ginger, and even cinnamon, which make this a spectacular blend. Truly, it’s expensive but very versatile, ideal for warm weather and even for going to the gym and sleeping. Excellent for a signature fragrance, although it’s already heavily dupe’d; truly, it can’t be missing from my collection. If it runs out, I’ll refill it without hesitation.

  • A beautiful perfume. Although it’s classified as a men’s fragrance, on my skin pH, citrus women’s perfumes simply don’t last; however, this is pure magic. It smells fresh, clean, herbal… a genuine delight. It’s a timeless fragrance that evokes cleanliness, tidiness, a soapy soul, and freshness. This is a safe purchase; there’s no flaw or point of error. It’s ideal for day, night, casual, and formal events. It’s one of the fragrances that has given me the most compliments; in my opinion, as a woman, I would use it too… Now, the price… It’s high, undoubtedly. I won’t enter into moralising about whether it’s worth it or not; it all depends on your budget and priorities. For the moment, I don’t think I’ll buy it again due to the price issue, but if I find a discount or offer, I would definitely buy it again, hahaha.

  • First, @wifi2025 tried the Amber Oud Aqua Dubai and said he didn’t like it, then he comes here to Imagination deluding himself into thinking he doesn’t like this one either, claiming it hurt his wallet. When clearly he only tested the Arabic dupe. What nonsense, trying to pretend to be something he isn’t.

  • Overrated. Let whoever wants to feel hurt feel hurt. I don’t dislike the scent, but the product itself. The smell is fine; the longevity is quite good for a citrus, and the tea note and ambroxan give it body. But come on.. nothing extraordinary. It smells like black tea Nestea, just less sweet. Especially when other perfumes manage to be a 1:1 copy in the dry-down for less than 1/10th of the price. I won’t name names because there are so many cheaper clones of this perfume that many manage to replicate the aroma. People gaslight themselves into thinking it’s an otherworldly, celestial, and elegant scent because it’s expensive and has massive marketing behind it, with many bot accounts singing its praises. But the reality is that, effectively, it’s a good scent, but so easy to replicate that it’s not worth spending £350 on it. This is for broke people like me. If you have money to spare, spend it wisely.

  • I didn’t like the scent. They say it’s citrusy, but perhaps I’m used to certain citrus perfumes and this doesn’t fit that category. It’s quite pricey, and I genuinely regretted the purchase; it really hurt my wallet in the end. I gave it to a relative, clearly knowing I wouldn’t get my money back (sadly, no one in my circle liked it, and certainly not the price, hahaha).
