A Christmas gift! Jacques Cavallier has really outdone himself with this creation. Osmanthus, one of my favourite floral notes, does not disappoint. Imagine walking through the countryside at dawn, with the dew still in the air and the sweet scent of flowers mingling with the moisture; a sparkling note of neroli and the subtlety of jasmine transport me to the spring fields of Scotland, just after winter, when pollinating insects are at work. It is ambrosia for the nose. To me, it is not merely a floral, but a full olfactory experience. I have never been a great fan of this house, but this collection caught my attention so much that my partner gave this wonderful gift a perfect ten. In my opinion, it is not just another floral, something both men and women can enjoy. The opening is delicate, subtle with green nuances but without losing its floral essence; the osmanthus is definitely perceived in a decent way, it does not overpower, yet I enjoy its astringent aroma. The trail is moderate, nothing extraordinary. I would say it is more for personal enjoyment than for showing off. I would definitely recommend it to lovers of florals who like to take a risk with peculiar notes.
