About Jean Lowe Fraiche
Jean Lowe Fraiche: A Bright, Spiced Take on Oriental Woods
Jean Lowe Fraiche by Maison Alhambra is an oriental-woody fragrance made for both men and women. It sets balsamic richness against a cooler fruity freshness.
Labdanum, patchouli and sandalwood shape the opening, before melon, jasmine, ginger and nutmeg bring a lighter, more lifted heart.
At first the blend feels full and enveloping. Labdanum offers a sweet, resinous warmth, patchouli a darker earthy edge, softened by the smooth creaminess of sandalwood.
The heart lets in freshness. Melon lends a juicy, watery clarity, and jasmine adds a neat white floral note that is clean yet gently full-bodied.
Ginger and nutmeg provide the seasoning. Ginger keeps things vivid with cool, fresh spice, while nutmeg introduces a drier, warmer spiciness that gives the centre shape.
Cedar and amber form the base. Cedar keeps the structure dry and refined, amber adds a mellow, balsamic glow that carries the oriental character through.
The wider impression brings together amber, wood, balsam and patchouli with white floral, fresh-spiced and warm-spiced touches, finished with a soft floral-musky ease.
It will suit those who enjoy unisex oriental-woody scents with fruit, white flowers and spice, where the warmth never becomes too heavy.
Jean Lowe Fraiche reads as a well-judged contrast: resinous and creamy to begin with, bright and spiced at its centre, then calm and warming on cedar and amber.
