I’m surprised there are so few reviews. L’Oudh hits you straight away: a bold, dark rose with character, slightly dirty but not off-putting, accompanied by labdanum and saffron, with frankincense and oud in the background. Soon the rose shyly hides behind the oud and frankincense, which take centre stage for about three hours, before the rose returns with a vengeance, dancing until the very end over a base of cedar and sandalwood. It’s three-dimensional and intriguing; when you think it’s gone, don’t be fooled, it’s still there, noticeable to others and then to you with even greater intensity. It resembles Oud Ispahan and Oud Touch by Franck Olivier. Performance is spectacular (over 24 hours on skin, like a tattoo). If it causes anyone to have an allergic reaction, that’s one thing, but it really comes down to personal taste. The frankincense is exquisite. In my opinion, it’s unisex. Highly recommended to try it before buying blindly, because, as they say, to each their own colour.
