  • I’ve been eager to try this for some time! It’s my first Serge Lutens, and although it disappointed me at first, it has captivated me this time. The opening is very strong, with licorice and burnt sugar. It’s supposed to smell like bread and milk, a breakfast, and now I truly perceive it: it’s like freshly baked Danish bread with walnuts, lots of licorice, and a butter note I already knew. Later, it becomes saltier and slightly acidic due to the honeysuckle, highlighting the periwinkle, which is my favourite part. I think it’s for winter only, or in summer with very small doses as it can feel suffocating. It’s a lovely perfume, but I’ve tried others that smell of patisserie and bakery, and let me tell you, Serge Lutens doesn’t bring anything new.

  • I had been dying to try this fragrance for a while. Jeux de Peau is the first Serge Lutens I try and honestly the first times it disappointed me, however this time, I think it has captivated me a little. The opening is very strong and smells a lot of licorice with burnt sugar. The perfume is supposed to smell like bread, milk, like a breakfast, and now I think I do perceive it, it smells like a baked Danish bun, with nutmeg and lots of licorice, besides it has a butter note that I have smelled before. After a while it becomes a bit saltier and I notice it a little acidic due to the immortelle, besides the immortelle stands out more, which is what I liked most about the perfume. I think this fragrance is for winter only, or if you dare to use it in summer in very small doses because it could result in being stifling. It is a lovely perfume but I have tried others that smell like a pastry shop and let me tell you Serge Lutens, you bring nothing.

  • It is true that it has a great resemblance to Santal Majuscule, one could say they are the same version executed differently. To me, it seems like Santal Majuscule but improved, although Jeux de Peau hit the market earlier. I see Santal as more mature and serious, it only lists 3 notes and fewer nuances are noticeable. Jeux de Peau is a bit sweeter, more notes are appreciated, such as licorice and immortelle. It is also true what they say about smelling like a bakery, freshly baked bread, that is true, especially the opening. The dry-down still retains that bakery smell, but something more woody, especially the typical Lutens sandalwood stands out quite a bit. As for projection and longevity, in the first hours it is more than enough to smell, I think it projects well, then it stays closer to the skin. The longevity has seemed excellent to me, managing to smell it until almost 9 hours later. Undoubtedly it is a unisex perfume and its climate is cold.

I was doing an inventory in my room and came across this jewel that Cnidaria gifted me. This fragrance has put me in the same dilemma as Lalique’s Encre Noire: it is a masterpiece but I cannot use it. The reason? It contains a burnt or toasted component that intoxicates me. However, I will recount the experience of being in front of this masterpiece: it is the first time I am exposed to a fragrance where the milk is so milk, where the sugary milk is appreciated so veridically. The sweetness accompanies from start to finish. What I detect as something toasted, I think could be the wheat itself; the problem is that if you pay too much attention, it can suffocate you a bit. The coconut note is very in the back, almost imperceptible. I don’t notice salty notes, here everything is sweet. I agree with oscarsh86: it is a very pleasant smell, but in me it has an adverse chemical effect due to the toasted touch (definitely I must flee from anything that is smoke or burnt resins, will I be allergic?). I agree with Cnidaria that it is for winter. Unisex? I feel it leans more towards the feminine. The duration is medium to long-lasting. I think the name is ‘playing on the skin’, but it does not honour the fragrance, as we are facing a gourmand, not something animalic. My verdict: it is a very well-realised gourmand, one of the best in its type. PS: I felt quite nostalgic, it gave me a lump in my throat; I am recalling memories of my past, something I lived in childhood; it is not a bakery aroma as Cnidaria says well, this smells like a home-made criolla sweet shop made in a home kitchen, perhaps that is where my nostalgia comes from.

  • My love, when are you going to get the bread? The aroma is already felt, fresh from the oven. Warm, soft, dusted with wheat flour… Ummmm, the slight sweetness of the yeast is felt! – Here it is. Do you fancy a little cream on it? Or better, cream with a little jam! – Ummmm! It smells wonderful. Thank you, love, for the hug, the cuddles, and the freshly made bread. I love you. The scent of this moment will last a long time… I love it! To me, it seems a precious fragrance, very well made and balanced… that will surely have a place in my life. A fabulous gourmand, comforting and warm for the mind; refreshing and invigorating for the nose. Moderate trail and long-lasting. It smells of bread so vividly that I can almost savour a warm crust dusted with flour. Then comes the sweet and smoky nuance of licorice, which gives me a sensation of sweet wood in a hot oven. Immortelle, subtle creamy chords, sandalwood, a touch of coconut with very soft peach and spices. I like this concept very much; it brings me sensations of great comfort and puts me in a good mood.

  • Rare and unwearable smell. Honestly, if one could spray it and carry bleach, it would be wearable, but I don’t think this perfume is up to the standard of a Serge Lutens. I don’t think smelling like bread is the quintessence of the perfume world. It’s a tacky, cloying, and nonsensical mess. 2/10.

  • Smells like those little meringue cream buns we call ‘pajaritos’ in Chile. It’s a sweet egg bread where you can really taste the wheat; the scent of that warm, creamy, milky bun is enhanced by the coconut, while the sandalwood gives it a feeling of being wrapped in a hug. I’m utterly fascinated by it; it makes me feel happy and nostalgic at the same time. It reminds me of moments from my childhood when my grandmother, may she rest in peace, would ask for help with the quequitos and kuchen she made occasionally, and those aromas would fill the kitchen. I wear it when I need to relax or when I have a little drink with a pastry, sitting quietly in my armchair watching a series or a funny video. Certainly, it’s more of a scent for cold days than warm ones, but I make no distinctions because its projection and level of sweetness never overwhelm me in the slightest.
