Iris Silver Mist left me a little cold. It’s not that I dislike it, but it didn’t really speak to me. The quality is certainly there, even if it didn’t convince me. It’s a very earthy iris at first, then a metallic note emerges, giving a chilly sensation that’s hard to explain. I was expecting something more akin to makeup-inspired perfumes, but here there’s nothing of that sort. I can detect the vetiver, which lends that earthy touch, and to a lesser extent the benzoin, which appears as it dries and adds a slight sweetness without overdoing it. The performance on my skin was poor across the three times I tested it. It does last, especially on clothes, but the projection is low; I could barely smell it. I think it suits any weather, cold or hot. All in all, an original and well-made iris, but it didn’t convince me due to the scent, performance, and especially the price.

Iris Silver Mist left me a bit cold. It’s certainly not a perfume I dislike, but it doesn’t say much to me either. Although it didn’t convince me, the quality is undoubtedly there. It’s a very earthy iris, especially at first, and over time I notice a metallic touch, as if it gives a cold sensation, something difficult to explain. I was expecting a different iris, similar to those found in other perfumes, giving that makeup-like sensation, but here I detect none of that. I also notice the vetiver, which perhaps is responsible for that earthy touch, and to a lesser extent the benzoin. I notice this last note mainly in the final dry-down, when the perfume sweetens a little, but nothing exaggerated. The performance on my skin was quite poor across the three times I tested it. It is true that it lasts, and more so on clothes, but in my opinion the projection is quite low; at least I could hardly smell it. Regarding the weather, I think it can be used in any climate, both fresh and hot. All in all, an original and well-made iris, but it didn’t convince me, both for the scent and performance, as well as its high price.

Iris Silver Mist by SL: An unusual, different, and irreverent scent compared to the usual. Brilliant, bold, and dense, with a velvety finish. It defines a perfume that plays with your common senses to make them unusual, daring, and sensual. A glorious blend with the aesthetic of niche perfumes. The most relevant point is that the nose is not Shdrake, but Maurice Roucel, responsible for this exquisite aroma. Reading his career, I better understand that niche aesthetic, as I see most of his creations tend to be mainstream. In short, my praise makes this scent a rebellious way of being different. The notes of vetiver mixed with sandalwood, musk, amber, and others turn this perfume into a blank canvas that you paint as its splendour reveals itself. Rating 8/10
