Juicy Couture Parfum, launched in 2006 and composed by Harry Fremont, was created to channel the brand's playful, celebrity-endorsed glamour. It is an unashamedly sweet floral fruity with a strong aquatic streak.
The fragrance opens with water hyacinth, passionfruit, watermelon, apple, water and marigold. The heart is all tuberose, rose and lily, resting on a base of patchouli, vanilla and caramel.
On first spray, there's a burst of juicy fruits and cold water. But the initial charm wears thin as the aquatic note rises up and the sweetness starts cloying. It feels more like a novelty than a serious perfume.
Longevity is around six to seven hours, with sillage that becomes intimate within ninety minutes. This is not a scent that evolves; it simply stays sweet and round throughout.
Our rating, a single score of 1.0 out of 5, places it as one of the weaker offerings in our database. There's little here to recommend other than a fondness for vintage Juicy Couture nostalgia.
Harry Fremont's other works show more finesse, so this one perhaps suffered from a brief to be as loud and sugary as possible. Patchouli tries to add a darker edge, but vanilla and caramel win the battle.
The packaging, with its ornate gold cap and cute details, is exactly what you'd expect. Inside, the liquid is less endearing, underdelivering on both creativity and elegance.
It's not absolute rubbish, but it feels dated and messy. We'd only suggest it as a fun pick for collectors of early noughties perfumes.
Perfect for young perfume lovers with a sweet tooth and a soft spot for aquatic notes. Not for those who prefer understated, modern florals or woody scents.
Juicy Couture Parfum offers a sugary, watery bouquet that lacks structural clarity. It's charming in small doses, but as a signature scent it quickly tires. Try before you buy.
