  Pleasant, though a bit generic, particularly in the opening and dry-down. The citrus notes are soft and well-balanced at first; then the pepper adds a spicy touch before settling into green and woody notes of vetiver, cedar, and tonka bean. It’s more ‘sporty’, evolving into something classic yet youthful. Good longevity but moderate sillage. I find it too generic for the price. Perhaps the Original Nuit is more interesting, as this one feels predictable.

  I liked it, but it sounds like a catalogue perfume: the citrus opening is fine, then the pepper kicks in, closing with vetiver, cedar, and tonka bean. It’s more ‘sporty’ and evolves into something classic-youthful. It lasts well, though the sillage is moderate. For the price, it seems too predictable; perhaps the Original Nuit is more interesting.

  I won’t contradict those who find it generic, but its balance, the dry-down, and that indefinable magic (alongside the original) make it a masterpiece. I’m strict with YSL, yet I must admit I love these two (La Nuit de l’Homme and the Frozen version). They deliver on their woody, spicy family, which perhaps explains why some deem them generic, but they perform their function perfectly.

  What can I say? Simply a delicious, very pleasant scent; it’s among the best in my collection. It’s finished today, but I’m sure I’ll buy it again. However, based on the good reviews I’ve read, I think I’ll go for La Nuit de L’Homme toilette instead.

  A younger version of the original La Nuit that adds a fresh, citrusy opening without falling into marketing suggestion. Cold, very cold. It reminds me of cola drinks with their fizz. Apart from the vibrant opening, the dry-down retains everything from the original, making it a more versatile fragrance. I’m not sure if it keeps the projection and longevity qualities of the original. It’s one of my favourites; what a pity it’s been discontinued.

It’s a clear night with the warmth of a secure embrace, leaving an imprint of confidence, transmitting the seduction of adulthood. If classic La Nuit smells like a playboy, La Nuit Frozen smells like his married brother, but no less attractive, like a prize with an owner.

  Excellent fragrance, both citrusy and sweet at the same time, very versatile in my humble opinion. I don’t find it overly generic, but that’s just my take. Scent 8/10, versatility 8/10, sillage 7/10, and longevity 8/10.

  I’ve had this fragrance since 2014 and haven’t used it much; I still have around 80% of the 100ml bottle. It’s made me reflect a bit on the perfume world, its consumers, and ‘influencers’. At some point, someone created an almost mystical ‘hype’ around this scent, which spread like a viral ball, and now I see it selling on eBay for over $300—an absolute madness. It’s not because it’s a bad fragrance, which it isn’t, but it’s nothing more than La Nuit de L’Homme with a citrus opening that lasts no more than 15 minutes before becoming the same fragrance you can buy in any perfumery for $40. A curious case of how consumers are manipulated, especially considering it’s a flanker of L’Homme, one of the most defenestrated lines precisely for launching an indiscriminate number of flankers.

  La Nuit de L’Homme Frozen Cologne is the floral and fruity version of the popular La Nuit de L’Homme by YSL, one could say it’s its aquatic version. It has a somewhat synthetic but pleasant fruity and floral opening, and while it retains part of its mother fragrance’s DNA, I feel it leans closer to YSL’s L’Homme than to La Nuit. After a few minutes, the fragrance settles into a slightly herbal woody scent, with some sweet and spicy touches, where the tonka bean plays its role. Despite being a fresh version, I assumed it would last less than the regular version, but on the contrary, it had good longevity for eight hours and then drops significantly to skin-level. It’s a more versatile version than the original Nuit, although already discontinued. It’s less focused on ‘seduction’ or romance, yet its scent is easy to like. Despite liking it, I wouldn’t pay the indecent prices asked for it; for that, I stick with the L’Homme version which I also like, unfortunately it has poor longevity.

  La Nuit de L’Homme Frozen Cologne is the aquatic and fruity version of the classic YSL. The opening is floral-fruity, slightly synthetic but pleasant, and while it retains the mother’s DNA, it leans closer to L’Homme than La Nuit. After a while, it settles into woody, herbal notes with sweetness and spices where the tonka bean stands out. I thought it would last less due to its freshness, but it held for eight hours before fading to skin scent. It’s more versatile than the original, less focused on seduction, and easy to wear. I like it, but I won’t pay those crazy prices; I’ll stick with the L’Homme, despite its lower fixation.

  La Nuit de L’Homme Frozen Cologne has clear similarities with La Nuit, obviously! If it’s a flanker of this, the lighter version of the classic Night of the Man is the freshest, floral, and citrusy, but be careful: it has more presence than La Nuit. I have the original formula of this 2012 frozen version, which I bought in 2018, and it lasts and projects much more than the current La Nuit version. It’s versatile: autumn, spring, and in summer, ideal for evening at a restaurant-style venue, cinema, or dinner at home. I don’t see it as club or pub material; on spring days, it’s perfect for a walk in the park. Bright citrus opening, then after a couple of minutes, it smells slightly powdery geranium (not to the extreme of L’Intense and its iris note). The lavender gives cleanliness and neatness in the dry down; there is tonka bean but it’s not creamy, it doesn’t clash with the composition. I don’t detect much pepper, luckily, as it’s not my favourite note. A great fragrance if you have to choose between this and La Nuit de L’Homme, I definitely recommend this beautiful scent. Scent 8/10, Projection 7.5/10, Longevity 7.5/10. Age 24+. Seasons: autumn (days), spring (days and nights), summer (nights). La Nuit de L’Homme Bach 2018: Scent 8/10, Projection 6.5/10, Longevity 5/10. Age 26+. Seasons: autumn and spring nights.

  A masterpiece of chemical engineering. It was hard to improve the mother fragrance (the Intense, Parfum, and Electrique versions were disasters), but this one is tremendous. It’s not a cologne, yet it is more ‘frozen’; the scent is consistent and extraordinary: geranium and cashmere. It’s the best option for hot nights, very seductive, and although it doesn’t seem to, it projects. People ask about it often. Discontinued, luckily it’s not well-known and prices haven’t exploded yet.

  It’s a more aquatic and fruity version than the original La Nuit, ideal for spring and summer. The issue is longevity; it’s not too long-lasting (a problem also with the original); after three or four hours, you need to reapply. There’s another drawback: it’s hard to find in stores, not even in specialist shops; I bought it online and the price was too high.

  It’s a lighter version with citrus and fresh notes compared to the original. I love its spring-like vibe. However, it doesn’t quite add up: since it carries the DNA of the classic La Nuit, Frozen Cologne shouldn’t list cardamom in its notes, which is the star ingredient of the line. Also, despite containing tonka bean, I find it much less sweet than the classic.
