Opening: blackcurrants, mango and black pepper. Heart: wild iris, black lotus and jasmine. Base: patchouli, vanilla and sugar. I know it’s one of this house’s best-sellers; I was about to buy it four years ago, but they gave me a decant with my Room Service and I could test it on skin before buying Mango Skin. It literally smells like delicious mango juice, but everything is ruined by the patchouli. If you like patchouli, it’s for you; if not, forget it. After all, I recommend trying it first; it’s not a perfume to buy blindly because the opening is delicious, but if your skin doesn’t tolerate patchouli like mine, I don’t recommend it, because the dry-down is very earthy and that’s what you’ll smell all day. Scent 6/10, projection 7/10, longevity 7/10.

  • Top aroma for spring and summer. Its greatness lies in its simplicity: an incredibly natural mango note. Forget the Fragrantica notes; they have nothing to do with it. In the base, there is sugar and vanilla that sweeten it greatly, almost becoming gourmand from the mid-stage. It also has patchouli, but I don’t feel it as earthy as they say. It’s totally nocturnal, ideal for informal and festive settings. I see it mostly for young people. Slightly more feminine, though it doesn’t look bad on a man.

I’ve just received it and it’s a sweet, ripe mango 🥰. I notice more fruits, like bergamot or green mandarin, with a floral note that softens the sweetness. The ylang-ylang stands out with that clean tone of freshly laundered, perfumed laundry. The dry-down is sugary, vanilla, musky and slightly animalic due to the civet. Suitable all year round, but its strength is in temperate weather, especially summer. ***EDITED 14/05/25: At first it didn’t stand out in the heat, but now that it’s cooled down, everything is fresh and breezy, shining spectacularly 🌟🌟🌟

I’ve just received it, first impressions: SWEET AND RIPE MANGO 🥰🥰🥰 I notice more fruits in the composition, like a bergamot or green mandarin, something floral to reduce the intensity of the sweet notes. The ylang-ylang stands out above all, bringing with it that rich, clean tone, but not clean from a shower, rather from freshly laundered, perfumed clothes ready to be worn. Its dry-down is somewhat sugary and vanilla, musky and a little animalic due to the civet. Suitable for use all year round, although its strength should be in warmer periods. EDIT: 14/05/25 I didn’t note it down, but, at least on my skin, it doesn’t stand out in the heat at all. However, now that the heat has dissipated, everything is fresh and slightly breezy, shining spectacularly 🌟🌟🌟

  • I tried it as a decant and it saved me from spending too much. It smells great at first, like juicy tropical mango, but it doesn’t evolve much and lasts very little on my skin (I can’t detect it after 4 hours). For the price, I expected more longevity and a more distinct dry-down, so I don’t think I’ll be buying the bottle.

It reminds me of those body mists with glitter and ultra-synthetic scents I used as a child; I’d just tolerate the smell to have my body covered in glitter, but this is the same thing in a more elegant bottle, without the glitter and 50 times more expensive. I don’t understand why it’s called Mango Skin when the mango aroma is only noticeable when it first sprays and doesn’t last once it dries; there’s no mango scent at all. It could be a poorly made flanker of La Vie Est Belle; in general, it’s synthetic, brash and cloying, giving me headaches. It also lacks good longevity; after 4-5 hours, the scent was almost imperceptible. I don’t understand the hype; it’s nothing innovative or distinct enough to stand out, let alone be a best-seller. Pure disappointment.
