The opening is very spicy and balsamic, with cinnamon and nutmeg in abundance, but I don’t detect the bergamot they mention. At first, it smells a bit synthetic, though it naturalises later. As it develops, the lavender and florals rise above a woody base; the heart is when I like this floral blend with cinnamon, vanilla and sandalwood the most. A touch of tonka bean bothers me as it doesn’t quite fit. Towards the end it remains similar, but a very subtle patchouli emerges in the background, noticeable only if you look for it. I see it as ideal for cool climates and evening outings; regarding gender, it seems more masculine, though it wouldn’t go amiss on a woman. It hasn’t displeased me, but it’s nothing special. The opening jars me, although the balsamic/floral heart reminds me a bit of Rochas Man. It may be one of the brand’s best, but the quality is far below the price.
