I own Montblanc Starwalker and this one; they are very similar. For a gift, daily wear, or at home, it’s great value for the price.
I picked this up casually at the shop where I usually buy Argentine Yves d’Orgeval replicas, which are good and cheap, but this is the original French version. As soon as I smelled it, I found it exquisite and it brought back olfactory memories of another fragrance. Here’s the translation from the brand’s website: The perfection of masculinity. Monarque is a fragrance inspired by a feeling of absolute power. The top notes explode with citrus and bamboo. Its irresistible heart is composed of ginger and nutmeg, giving way to an intriguing base of sandalwood, amber, and musks, thus revealing an attractive and powerful man. Amazing and surprising, Monarque embodies charisma and glory. To my nose, it has something similar to Paco Rabanne’s Pure XS, mainly due to the very prominent ginger note, but Monarque is more citrusy and soft. I like it for everyday use; it smells fresh and elegant.
