Strange composition from Montale. The truth is I perceive an immense smell of strawberry bubblegum. It’s a tremendously sweet and potent fragrance, in the line of Montale’s DNA, with great fixative and longevity. Still, despite this enveloping (and cloying) strawberry and vanilla scent, there’s something about it that finds me addictive. In short, I’d define it as: energetic, narcotic, cloying and ”artificial”. Although marked as unisex, it’s clearly feminine and I’d only recommend it if you’re addicted to sweet perfumes, still… better to test before buying.

  • Montale surprises us again with a bizarre blend: it smells of intense strawberry gum. It’s sweet, potent, and extremely long-lasting, typical of the brand’s DNA. Although it’s cloying and synthetic, it has an addictive hook. I’d define it as energetic, narcotic, and enveloping. Despite being unisex, it’s clear this is for girls who love sweets; better to test before buying.

  • Every time my parents took me to the fair, it smelled like this. I don’t detect strawberry, but it’s a sweet and strange scent. It seems nice for a young girl and, as there’s nothing quite like it, I think I’ll buy it.

  • Every time my parents took me to the fair it smelled like this, I don’t notice the strawberry but it is a sweet and strange aroma. Friendly for a young girl, I think I’ll buy it because there aren’t perfumes that resemble it.

Literal: Audi house air freshener. When you buy an Audi, they give you (or you can buy) a spray air freshener which is brilliant, it smells exactly like Mukhallat… Weird strawberry jelly. As a perfume I didn’t like it at all… as a house or car air freshener yes. Trail and longevity… like a proper Montale.

  • Air freshener, floor cleaner, synthetic, strident, sticky and it stays tattooed on your skin, on top of that it projects everywhere so everyone knows you’re wearing it… After testing it, my blood sugar shot up to 220. It’s not for me, it smells like strawberry caramel mixed with something balsamic, a throat lozenge but strawberry-flavoured. I don’t see it for a man, nor would I want my partner smelling of this on a woman…

  • It’s like an air freshener or floor cleaner: synthetic, shrill, sticky, and it tattoos itself onto your skin, projecting everywhere. It raised my blood sugar to 220. It’s not for me; it smells like strawberry caramel mixed with something balsamic, a throat lozenge. I don’t see it for men; on a woman, it might look good, but my partner wouldn’t like smelling me in this.

  • Smells like expensive car air freshener, didn’t like it, plus it stains clothes because the liquid is red. Disappointed… totally, it’s not for me nor am I for it.

  • It’s a very particular perfume, at first it’s strong, a synthetic strawberry with an incense smell, like walking into an Arab shop. I don’t feel the sweet bubblegum kind, it’s darker and heavier, but it does remind me of an air freshener and I like it.

  • Montale Mukhallat 🍓. Looking for a strawberry I liked, curiosity led me to this Mukhallat. It’s not horrible, but I think I should stop my search for freshies. It’s synthetic, smells like strawberry with sugared cherry, but has a medicinal freshness, like a granita. The almond gives it a cherry scent and there’s tons of musk. It smells to me like an air freshener called Cherry blossom. Is it worth buying blind? If you like strawberry, cherry and musk, yes. If not, run away from it hahaha. Would I buy the bottle? In this case, no. Scent: 🍓🍓. Longevity: 🍓🍓🍓🍓

They gave me a sample to try and it smells like a brand new doll and synthetic strawberry bubblegum. I like strawberry scents, but spending what a Montale costs on something that smells like children’s shampoo or air freshener, I wouldn’t advise it. I prefer something more complex from this niche house.

  • Mukhallat Montale 🍓. I was looking for a strawberry I’d like and curiosity got the better of me. It’s not horrible, but I think I should stop seeking fresh scents. It’s synthetic, smelling of strawberry with sugared cherry and even medicinal sherbet. The almond gives it a cherry touch, and there are tons of musk. It smells to me like that Cherry Blossom room freshener. Is it worth buying blind? If you like strawberry, cherry, and musk, yes. If not, run. Would I buy the bottle? No. Scent: 🍓🍓. Longevity: 🍓🍓🍓🍓

It’s a synthetic strawberry with a hint of new car air freshener, nothing elegant but… I absolutely LOVE it.

  • In Chile there’s a baby clothing shop called Limonada and this perfume smells identical to their room spray, which is a synthetic strawberry scent almost like incense. For us living here, you just have to walk into the shop and you’ll know. As soon as I tested the decant, the first thing I thought of was that smell. Would I buy it? I don’t think so. 😅

  • Hello! This perfume opens with a synthetic strawberry or like some lipsticks from the 90s smelled, that’s the first thirty minutes, afterwards it becomes creamy, a strawberry-vanilla syrup. When I tried it I didn’t believe I would use it but I fell in love with its dry down; it would be ideal for a little girl, but I, who am not a woman over forty, love feeling it on my skin, my clothes. It has a fixation on my skin of about seven hours, on clothes about ten. It’s very rich and yes, a synthetic touch but totally for enjoyment.

  • verdepensativo

When I smelled it, I felt an air freshener aroma. I remember the synthetic school erasers from the early 80s that smelled of synthetic strawberries, perfumed cases and a bit of air freshener. It caused some controversy in me; I found it very linear and unpleasant. On my skin, only the strawberry was noticeable and it lasted only five hours. I wouldn’t try it again.

  • Exquisite. Yes, it smells like a brand-new plastic doll and strawberry gum, but it’s rich. Perhaps you wouldn’t want to walk around smelling like this, but it’s unusual. It brings back childhood memories, lasts a long time, and leaves a lovely trail. I detect only chewy strawberry, and as it dries, a hint of almond vanilla. It stays with me.

  • I think it’s an exquisite perfume. It’s true it smells like a new plastic doll, it’s the same fruity rubber scent, but honestly it’s very rich. Perhaps you wouldn’t want to smell like that and that’s fine, but it’s totally unconventional. It reminds me of my childhood. Perhaps I wouldn’t wear it to a party or similar, but it’s a scent that lingers, leaves a lovely trail and makes me happy. I don’t feel much more than chewy strawberry and perhaps a little sweet almond-vanilla as it dries a few hours after application, but barely… I do feel that plastic-like aroma, perhaps it’s the Peru balsam, I don’t know, but I like it. It stays with me.

I don’t know why they say this Mukhallat is a super-feminine scent. It’s totally unisex. As perfume is nowadays, with Toy Boys and the rest, anyone can wear this, even my cat. Smells like Chupa Chups Koyak (acidic strawberry and morango lollipop on a stick). Synthetic? Like 98% of modern perfumery. Addictive and sensual.

  • Mariposa_nocturna30

This perfume reminds me of my childhood, specifically when a cousin was given a Barbie that came with a strawberry dress and a strawberry-scented perfume in a bottle; it’s the exact same aroma. I can see myself at eight years old thinking I wanted to bathe and smell that dress. Now, as an adult, finding this perfume allows me to wear the scent of strawberries and plastic, which while not everyone likes, I do. The longevity of this EDP is monstrous; I have a jacket that, despite being washed, still holds the strawberry scent. When I apply it and come home from work, the room still smells as if I had just applied it. A tip: do not apply it on light-coloured clothes, as I stained a white shirt and since the liquid is amber-coloured it looked like dirt. But it’s the most odorous dirt I know.

  • Mariposa_nocturna30

It evokes my childhood: my cousin with her strawberry Barbie and her perfume. Now, as an adult, I can wear that strawberry and plastic scent. The longevity is monstrous; my washed jacket still smells of strawberry, and even my room smells of fresh application. Advice: don’t put it on light clothing; it stains white shirts and looks like dirt, but it’s the smelliest dirt I know.

Compared to other Montales, this is truly niche. It’s not for everyone. I expected artificial strawberry, but I sensed the aftertaste of cough syrup. On the skin, it’s interesting, like syrup with musk. It’s not versatile; it’s a nuclear weapon in terms of longevity and sillage. I find it more unisex than other reviews suggest. It goes beyond the ordinary in women’s perfumes.

  • coke_zero

Compared to other Montale fragrances I’ve tried, this one can definitely be categorised as niche according to its definition. Without a doubt, it’s a scent that won’t be appreciated by everyone. I expected the artificial strawberry aroma that is so often mentioned, but to my surprise, what I perceived was the aftertaste of cough syrup. (I know that doesn’t sound very attractive), but on the skin it becomes very interesting. It’s like the aroma of cough syrup with a powdery cushion. I wouldn’t categorise it as versatile; definitely not for any occasion. As for longevity and sillage… it’s a nuclear weapon without a doubt, true to the Montale DNA. I see it as quite unisex, unlike other comments. It’s a very interesting scent that goes beyond the common ‘strawberry’ or musk expected in a feminine perfume.

  • It took me about seven tries to appreciate the good in this perfume. Its opening feels excessively synthetic and sweet, with that ‘strawberry’ scent that reminds me of plastic dolls and Avon lipstick. Over time, the strawberry loses strength and a very comforting almond-vanilla note takes over, which, combined with the underlying strawberry, becomes very original. It projects a lot (or gives headaches if you use more than two sprays) and lasts until the next shower or longer. I can’t say I liked it, but I found its positive side. It’s not feminine, but rather childish. It’s for wearing with irony in certain winter moments, for personal enjoyment or in open spaces, as its penetrating scent can be annoying (my partner says it smells like a stable). Pleasant: 6/10 Interesting: 8/10 Versatile: 2/10 Original: 8/10

  • Woman in Love

I love it. At first, it’s bright, sweet and dense, full of joy. Then it transforms into a great strawberry caramel, a delicious lollipop treat. Later, a touch of an old powder compact appears, but so refined that it leaves only a soft sweetness, without any rancid or retro notes. It reminds me of the carefree school life of teenage girls in American films: young, beautiful, happy, with perfect smiles and pink dresses. A charming perfume. The longevity is excellent and the sillage is moderate.

  • Pure nostalgia. It smells like those pink glitter pens that used to be strawberry-scented. Once dry, it becomes creamy and powdery with an almond note, turning into red liquorice. I know not everyone will like it and some may find it childish, but it undeniably evokes emotions.
