After trying London, expectations for NY were out of this world, but the disappointment was immediate upon testing it. At first, it seems promising, yet it settles into a clean scent with hints of honey, caramel, and tobacco that fail to shine. It has many notes, but they blend so much that they become indistinguishable, something others have also noted. It doesn’t smell bad; in fact, I like it, but compared to London, it is far inferior. It’s a good perfume without identity, wandering down several paths without choosing any, ultimately lingering only as a great clean scent and nothing more.

This perfume has left me undecided. I wore it almost all day yesterday and went through very different phases. The opening is spectacular: sweet, intense, with a very pleasant and natural blend of floral, citrus, and sweet notes; I thought I had found my perfume. But shortly after, it shifted towards something more generic, a common creamy rose and caramel scent, similar to Tom Ford’s Rose Prick but sweeter, with a touch of tobacco or a subtle acidity like in Marly’s Herod. As it dried down, I liked it again, but the performance dropped until it became a pleasant skin scent with no projection. It lasted about 6-8 hours, which isn’t bad, but I wonder if it’s worth spending over £200 on 50ml of something rich yet generic with good but not exceptional performance. For now, I wouldn’t buy it; I see it as dispensable and replaceable by cheaper options. I see it as unisex, more for night and cold weather.
