  • With just a few notes, they have created something incredibly rich; the opening blends that kumquat, not too citrusy but aromatic and soft, like rubbing an orange leaf, with a palo santo that doesn’t overwhelm because the kumquat tames the intensity of the sandalwood. That spicy freshness of the pepper reminds me of Marc Jacobs BANG BANG. The quality-price ratio is brilliant, with a projection that is brutal and one of the best to cling to my skin.

Once it dries, Noble Palo Santo smells like copal incense with cheerful flowers in the background. It’s like walking along a ravine with copal trees dripping with resin and wildflowers all around. It has surprised and captivated me, especially at such an excellent price. It has three very distinct stages, all lovely, but the dry-down is mystical, clean, and a real treat.

  • I’m sure it has more notes than declared. I manage to detect a damp forest that easily makes you feel insecure with a clean aroma.

  • I am sure this perfume has more notes than declared; I can detect a damp forest that easily makes you feel self-conscious with a clean scent.

  • Alongside Vibrant Leather Winter, these are the two best fragrances from Zara; you can buy them blind without worry.

I can’t stand this scent; I don’t find what some YouTube reviewers say, that it is a great fragrance. I like nothing about it, neither in the opening nor in the dry-down. Do yourself a favour and try it before buying. PS: Personal opinion and experience.

Synthetic notes that give me a headache. It never smells good. (Review of a bottle bought in Mexico in October 2020).

I can’t stand this scent. I can’t find what the YouTube reviewers say about it being a great fragrance; I dislike it completely, neither at the start nor at the end. Do yourself a favour and try it before buying.

  • A fresh and rich fragrance that reminds me a bit of Othello from the 80s. I like the scent, but it has Zara’s usual problem: poor longevity. For the 12€ I paid, one could ask for nothing more.

  • When sprayed in the air or on clothes, it smells spicy and alcoholic. On the skin, it softens to aromatic burnt wood with a hint of incense. One must be careful with the quantity or it smells very synthetic. It leaves little trail and that I like; I prefer it not to be invasive and noticeable only up close.

  • When sprayed into the air or on clothes, it smells slightly spicy and alcoholic, but on my skin it settles softer and woodier, like aromatic burnt wood with a touch of incense. One must be careful with the amount, or it smells too spicy, even synthetic. It doesn’t leave a huge trail, and I like that; I prefer it not to be invasive and noticeable only up close. (November 2020 for €10.95). I liked it less than the Fresh Sandalwood from Zara.

As always, Zara declares the supposed three dominant notes listed on Fragrantica (though I’ll admit they aren’t my main ones). The box states: top with kumquat, grated lemon, and bergamot; heart with black pepper and black leather; base with palo santo, mountain moss, and crackling amber. It reads more like a Michelin-star restaurant menu than a perfume. The list of chemical and synthetic ingredients is long, but nothing compared to perfumes costing several times more (in December 2020 it was €11/100ml). That said, it is one of the few Zara male fragrances I consider worth keeping for my taste. When Vibrant Leather first launched (and I didn’t know about Aventus and the rest), I used it quite a bit until I grew tired of that smoky pineapple. I don’t detect any of the declared notes; for me, 80% of its development smells like a softened Vibrant Leather (which also doesn’t smell like leather anywhere). I don’t perceive Palo Santo; I imagine it’s not easy to extract synthetically, perhaps a faint woody scent at the very end of the dry-down. I don’t know the smell of the copal mentioned by Juanpasiones, so I can’t confirm if that’s the case. Regarding longevity, some say it’s a problem, but for a fragrance at €11, it’s normal it doesn’t last long; nevertheless, it performs creditably if it lasts 4-5 hours, and it lasts longer on me. To summarise: a soft Vibrant Leather that finishes woody in the dry-down, pleasant, easy to wear, with a certain unisex aroma, quite good longevity on my skin (6-8h), and a light trail. Au revoir!

As always, Zara lists the three Fragrantica notes (though I don’t detect them). The box promises kumquat, lemon, bergamot, pepper, leather, palo santo, moss, and amber; it sounds more like a Michelin-star menu than a perfume. Long synthetic ingredients, yet nothing far off from much more expensive fragrances (it cost 11€ for 100ml in 2020). Of all Zara’s masculine scents, this is one of the few I like. When Vibrant Leather launched, I used it until I grew tired of that smoky pineapple. I don’t detect the declared notes; for me, 80% smells like a softened Vibrant Leather (without the leather scent). I don’t smell the palo santo, perhaps a slight woody touch at the end. The longevity is good for the price: 4-5 hours is normal, but on my skin it lasts longer. In summary: a softened Vibrant Leather that finishes with woody notes, pleasant, easy to like, with a unisex aroma and a light trail.

  • The sharp orange and potent smoky wood notes really stand out; these are the ones that prevail. Pity that it lasts only about two hours on my skin.

  • Top fragrance, definitely. It’s one of my favourites because it suits everything: it’s noticeable without being overpowering, works in any weather, and lasts over 10 hours on my skin. It lingers on clothes and skin similarly to Montblanc Explorer, but at a lower price. It’s linear, but ultimately the orange and rich wood notes stand out. If you try it, you won’t regret it.

  • It is a very good fragrance; I definitely recommend it. It is one of my favourites because it works for every occasion: it is striking but not invasive, it handles well in any weather, and in my case, it gives me tremendous longevity, over 10 hours. Even on clothes and skin, it is similar to Montale Black Explorer but at a lower price. It is linear in its development, but at the end, the orange comes through more with a very rich wood. Without a doubt, if you have the opportunity to buy it, do so; you won’t regret it.

I own it side by side with Terre d’Hermes and they are almost identical; I recommend it as a budget alternative.
