Descripción

Nuit De Sable by BDK Parfums is an olfactive fragrance for men and women. This composition was launched in 2019 under the olfactive direction of Marie Schnirer. The top notes unfold a warm and exotic opening with nutmeg, sandalwood, and Guatemalan cardamom. The heart of the fragrance reveals a sandy floral composed of Turkish rose, rose, and sand. Finally, the base notes settle with a woody and sweet persistence thanks to the presence of nutmeg, tonka bean, ambroxan, and musk.

  • This perfume transports me to the Mellah market in Marrakech. Walking through it, surrounded by millions of spices, you also find stalls of dried flowers symbolising the rose. After all, it is the spices that dominate and make you remember the scent long after you’ve gone. On my skin, it is: spices, spices, and more spices, in their most natural form. The queen is nutmeg. As it dries, a floral/attar-like and creamy nuance emerges. After a few hours, I detect a smoky note that I adore; it reminds me of the luxury incense sticks used in the Riad where we stayed. The performance is good: moderate projection, moderate sillage, and over 8 hours on skin. It is unisex but leans slightly towards the masculine side. To be honest, looking at the notes, I thought I’d like it more. Mind you, I don’t dislike it. It could be a delight for lovers of pure spice. In fact, if I had it as a candle or incense, I’d love it. As a perfume, personally, I would need something more, such as a more pronounced vanilla or tonka bean base, to make it truly my own. Nevertheless, I believe it is a very fine creation.

  • A very special fragrance for me, with an indescribable and unique magic. It has several nuances: floral, spicy, and woody. I love how everything comes together to form an exquisite ensemble. I would wear it on cold autumn or winter afternoons and evenings. It is creamy with the rose, semi-sweet, and very balanced; the Guatemalan cardamomo adds a touch of grace. The amber part is the best of the aroma. I truly feel it is unisex. Sillage ranges from moderate to wide, with longevity of around 6 hours on skin. I own Cuir de Venise by Boucheron, and these are very different scents; I prefer Nuit de Sable much more.

  • I haven’t stepped foot in the Mellah market in Marrakech, yet this smells of wood, sweetness, and spice. It’s delicious and addictive; on my skin, the nutmeg, sandalwood, and Guatemalan cardamomo stand out over a tonka bean base. If you love woody-spiced fragrances, this is a safe blind buy—I did exactly that and it worked out brilliantly. Top-notch performance: over 7–12 hours of longevity and excellent projection at two metres. Scent 9/10, Projection 9/10, Longevity 10/10, Price 8/10.

  • Gingerbread and cardamom to the max; the rose is instantly noticeable with a smoky incense-like twist, even if the label doesn’t say so. This throws you straight into a Medina, the warmth of the spices evoking a desert feel. Potent with a good trail, it lasts eight hours on skin but drops in volume after the first four hours, settling into a more personal bubble. A very special scent, though too masculine for my taste.
