Sel d'Argent by BDK Parfums is a fragrance from the olfactive family for men and women, launched in 2020. The nose behind this creation is Anne-Sophie Behaghel. The top notes are sea salt, bergamot and grapefruit; the heart notes, Tunisian orange blossom, Madagascar ylang-ylang and Iranian galbanum; and the base notes, white musk, ambroxan, Iso E Super and cashmere.

A refined, more elegant and citrusy version of Tauer’s Phthaloblue. Very fresh, energising and comforting.
Sel D’Argent or ‘silver salt’ in French. The name sounds lovely, but upon trying it, it’s a generic aquatic scent you find in Bleu or similar tired offerings. That’s all it is: it smells good, harmless, but doesn’t evoke that ‘silver salt’ promised by its name. Moderate performance and expensive for what it is, like much of niche perfumery.
Correct perfume, nothing more. Marine, salty and clean. It is the weakest and least appealing of this style’s offerings, alongside Costa Azzura, Oud Minerale, Eden Roc or Salaria. In my view, the composition is too simple to justify its price. It passes through without making much of an impression.
