A good proposition, very opulent. The dark rose (I detect it clearly), the spices, and that creamy, warm sweetness make a refined fragrance which, in my opinion, is not just for men. Ideal for cold or crisp days. I’m not sure if it matches the AOSTK mentioned by the previous reviewer, as I haven’t tried it. If Palace, the younger sibling, offers this, then Atkinsons must be exceptional. Slightly ambered, it is a well-crafted oriental, enveloping, with acceptable longevity and a constant presence for the first two hours before fading slightly. It makes you feel elegant, with that distinguished touch that truly delights the senses. A journey to the East while seated on a Dutch aeroplane.
Although the notes claim they are different, this Palace d’Ambré smells exactly like Atkinsons Oud Save The King, or even two of them; it’s practically a clone. I picked it up yesterday at a Rituals store on offer because the assistant said it was last year’s stock and they were clearing it at 20%. It’s a very pleasant fragrance with a strong presence, luxurious, with excellent sillage and long-lasting wear. While AOSTK is superior in quality and creaminess, being rounder and more substantial, this Rituals version is a great buy if you enjoy spicy scents.

I picked it up yesterday at Rituals on a 20% discount because the assistant said it was last year’s stock and was being cleared out. It’s a very pleasant fragrance with a strong presence, luxurious, excellent sillage and long-lasting. While AOSTK is superior in quality and creaminess, fuller-bodied and rounder, this Rituals one is a good buy if you enjoy spicy scents.
