Snagged it for $10 and it’s a bargain. A clean, elegant oud with nothing animal about it. It has real personality; the spiced saffron opens up boldly before settling into a very fine rose. Perfect for chilly days or outdoors. Note: as it’s oud, use it moderately in the office.

I was looking for copper and found gold. This is for those who want intense, dry wood with no sweetness. Notes of saffron, spices, and a hard synthetic oud with a herbal, medicinal touch. At $10, it’s madness and doesn’t smell like cheap alcohol. The cumin adds a slight bitterness, but the rose at the base provides roundness without cloying. It’s unisex, but better suited for over-45s with a semi-formal style. Avoid it for dates; it might be too much. Sillage and longevity are decent, but the price is what saves it.

Keep it brief: my partner and I picked it up on offer for under $14. It smells like old wood from grandparent’s cupboards. If a woman wears it, she smells like a home for the elderly; if a man, like a classic car collector. It doesn’t last long on the skin and doesn’t garner compliments. I now only use it to blend with citrus fragrances. I wouldn’t buy it again.
