R.E.M. by Ariana Grande

I bought it blindly and was eager to try it after reading so much. Some people love it, others hate it, and at first, having only heard of Cloud by AG, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. It’s unisex; the lavender is noticeable straight away. It smells clean but also has a sweetness and is super comforting. It took me a few days to realise it’s the most curious perfume I’ve owned, but I can’t stop using it. The only thing I’d change is that it lasted longer, but if you like lavender, unisex scents, and smelling different, it’s for you.

A tender scent, like a baby’s; the musk mixed with the lavender is very noticeable, giving it a unisex air, but I repeat, like a baby’s, super soft, nothing invasive, not much sillage. I’d say it’s for personal enjoyment. The longevity isn’t the best; I recommend reapplying, but I can say it doesn’t bother and isn’t sweet; it looks great in spring. Personally, I associate it with someone lovely and tender, man or woman. I feel it’s good for an outing with your boyfriend or friends, but a chill plan, a café or park in the afternoon. I feel it’s worth it for the bottle; it’s as lovely as can be, and if you like baby aromas, it’s a good option.

Honestly, this perfume is exquisite; I bought it with fear due to the bad reviews, but I loved it, and that despite being someone used to Ariana’s typical sweet scents. This one is fresh, a little sweet, floral, and has good longevity; the packaging is perfect. Truthfully, it gets a 9/10 because it’s a rich scent, but I feel it’s very flat.

Without a doubt, the best perfume by Ari. Unique, with a perfect contrast between sweet and salty; it also feels fresh without losing intensity. I love it.

Knowing Ariana’s fragrances and collecting scents with fig, I got this one. I had tested it on my skin and liked it, so I decided to buy it. A sweet fragrance; you can notice that salty touch. Sweet at first with a sparkling, juicy tone, which then caramelises on the skin with that salty touch. When it dries, a unisex note appears that I attribute to the lavender, but it’s not prominent; watch out, it’s very subtle. It reminds me a bit of Thank You Next, but when it dries, it goes down a different path. For now, I don’t feel the role of tonka bean or sandalwood is relevant. A lovely aroma for spring-summer; what put me off was its poor sillage and longevity. On my skin, it loses sillage within an hour and I only smell it close to the skin. Performance is less than a body splash. Will it need macerating? …in a few months I’ll be counting.

Nothing lasts longer or projects more than R.E.M. It’s a scent that makes heads turn and people ask what I’m using. It’s been my favourite for a long time; I love lavender, but this doesn’t smell like detergent, it’s sweet, and the salt gives it the final spark, like adding salt to a cookie: it adds brightness to the sweet without you tasting the salt on every bite. I’ve already finished two bottles and I miss it; I can’t wait to buy it again. I love wearing it every day but making it stand out.

I first tried it in a store on paper and I hated it; I sensed a very strong glass-cleaner smell, probably due to the lavender and salt. I recommend trying it on skin before buying. But my sister loved it, so when I bought it for her, I tried it on myself and honestly, I loved it. If the lavender feels strong at first, it soon becomes super powdery and soft, sweet but not cloying. It’s a more mature scent than the rest of Ariana’s, definitely for someone who wants to smell sweet but not like a cake.

Neither here nor there. I smell lavender mixed with chlorine, literally like when you clean the floor or the bathroom. It doesn’t seem like an Ariana perfume, it seems like a floor cleaner. Ariana, what is this? A resounding no. I don’t recommend buying it blindly; if you can try it first, that’s better. I’m disappointed, it wasn’t what I expected.

I tried it in a store expecting, while not a unique and mind-blowing aroma, at least one pleasant and pretty. However, I encountered very light vanilla and lots of Fabuloso. In Mexico, Fabuloso is a common cleaner with a potent synthetic lavender scent, and well, I smelled that detergent in R.E.M. I’m not sure if I’ll use it, I don’t hate it, but I wouldn’t want to smell like Fabuloso for hours. That said, beautiful packaging; perhaps I’ll get the 30 ml version later, which is very cute and I only have it as a decoration.

I feel it smells like powder in a sweaty armpit, I can feel it.

If you love lavender, this is your perfume. It’s a caramelised lavender scent, super elegant and unisex 🥰

It smells like a men’s gel, type Ego (from Mexico), lots of lavender and salt with a sweet touch. It’s not my favourite but it tastes good, suitable for hot days

Alcoholic opening! Within seconds it becomes lovely, fresh, clean and sweet! However, after half an hour it dries down to smell like a cheap pharmacy men’s perfume, similar to Axe or Rexona deodorant but softer. Horrible. It is semi-oily and lasted about four hours. The bottle is a real beauty♥️

My signature scent, my number one from Ariana and my entire collection. This fragrance starts with fig, quince and zephyr, very sweet and fruity. After ten minutes comes the magic: lavender joins the fruity-sweet notes, enhanced by tonka bean and sandalwood. An aroma that is hard to describe due to its charm. Like Thank U Next, it is not for everyone, but REM is not gourmand and has more complexity. Amazing performance: lasts around 12 hours on skin (sometimes more) and three days or more on clothes; high projection for the first four hours, then moderate until it softens. On me, it is a compliment machine, the most complimented in Ariana’s and my entire collection. 10/10, it is my scent 🫧🤍✨

I did not smell zephyr, caramel, fig, quince or tonka bean :_) I noticed no sweet notes, not even at the end, only lavender and a penetrating note I cannot identify, typical of men’s perfumes. I do not know if my nose is anosmic to this :S I did not like it. I do not recommend buying blindly based on the notes; luckily I did not take the risk😅🤞 The bottle is beautiful :_)
