I made a costly mistake with this brand six months ago. I bought the Iris Violet range, and in my zeal to try everything at once, I burned out on potent miniatures that left me confused. Not even the 100ml bottle appealed to me. However, now seeking a pink-oud that isn’t dry or saffron-heavy, I’ve stumbled upon this gem. It’s a lovely pink, beautifully blended, which has given me a little whiff. The trail is eternal and more complex than Lancôme’s Idôle. I recommend it 100%, but give it time: it’s an aggressive pink with more thorns than petals. A real discovery.
If you’re hunting for a niche pink-oud combo that delivers the goods without breaking the bank, featuring a stunning bottle and an elegant, feminine, and seductive scent, look no further. It’s not groundbreaking, but its longevity and projection are top-tier, rivaling much pricier perfumes. A fantastic buy.
If you want a niche fragrance that captures that bold pink-oud combination at an accessible price, with a gorgeous bottle and an elegant, feminine, and seductive aroma, this is it. It’s nothing new, but its longevity and projection are excellent, matching those of far more expensive perfumes. A wonderful fragrance.
I like rose with oud perfumes, but they aren’t among my favourites. However, try adding caramel to them and I’ll become a fan. This perfume has a rich citrus-fruity opening, after which what remains quickly on my skin is the rose + tonka bean + oud combo. Perhaps it is linear, but… why have more? I’m obsessed with it. I’ve been so impressed by its quality that I’ve been thinking that in a few months, for my birthday, I might order a perfume from Alexandre J. Probably not this one, as I need to finish other scents from my collection first, which, although different, follow this oud gourmand line. I’d like to compare it with Oud Mood by Lattafa. Unfortunately, I don’t have my bottle of that perfume right now to do so. Oud Mood would be a serious rival for Rose Oud, as that Lattafa wonder has a much better quality-to-price ratio. That will have to wait for a future experiment. Its trail is good; you smell it constantly while wearing it. Its longevity is around eight to nine hours on my skin. Winter, nocturnal, seductive. I’ve really enjoyed this fragrance! Scent 8.5/10 Longevity 8/10 Sillage 7.5/10 Value for money 7.5/10 Versatility 7.5/10 Packaging 6.5/10 Would I buy again? No, I didn’t buy it.
At first sniff, Candy Rose and Roses Musk by Montale came to mind, as if this perfume were a mix of both, light and refreshing, more suited to spring days than winter ones. This is the fourth perfume I’ve tried from this collection, and so far, they all seem to perform the same: four to five hours on my skin with a moderate trail, all very lovely! P.S. I just tried Midnight Amber by Óscar de la Renta, and they are identical.
This is my second time risking an oud wood purchase. I liked it, but it wasn’t spectacular. I bought it blindly on offer due to good reviews. It’s very linear, unisex, with clear pink and oud notes. I don’t detect other accords, perhaps a hint of lemon, but nothing of raspberry, apple, or toffee. It’s not bad, but compared to my Natura Essencial Oud, which has a rich sweetness, this falls short and feels more unisex. The trail is moderate and lasts about five hours. If I’d had the chance to test it first, I might not have bought it. I won’t repurchase, but I’ll enjoy it in the heat.
It was the second oud wood fragrance I dared to try. I liked it, but I didn’t find it spectacular. I made the mistake of buying it blindly due to a bargain and good reviews. To me, it is a very linear, unisex scent with two clearly present notes: rose and oud wood. I don’t sense any other notes; if there are any, I don’t perceive them on my skin. The lemon touch might be noticeable a little, but it isn’t predominant. I would have loved to feel the raspberry, the apple, that fruity accompaniment, and above all, the tonka bean with more potency. It’s not a bad fragrance, but I can’t help comparing it to my first oud, the Essencial Oud by Natura, which I like much more. In that one, the rose-oud combo is noticeable with a very special, rich sweetness… here there is no sweetness; I find it much more unisex. Its trail is moderate and its longevity doesn’t exceed five hours, to be honest. If I had tried it first, perhaps I wouldn’t have bought it. I won’t repurchase it, but I will certainly enjoy it in the heat of summer.
On my skin, the rose and oud really shone through. They are delicate rose and oud wood notes, nothing suffocating or overwhelming. I would have loved for the raspberry to be the star, as I already own a mountain of perfumes with rose and oud, but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. If you adore Montale-style roses, this fragrance will fascinate you. I also found it very similar to Jo Malone’s Velvet Rose and Oud.
