Upon spraying, cardamom is the first thing to hit the nose, but then it settles into an earthy, light and clean scent. Over time, the marine notes and salt come to the fore, and perhaps it is that touch of myrtle that gives it a masculine edge as the hours pass. It definitely leans that way a bit, but as a woman I absolutely love this fragrance. It’s a pity it’s a limited edition and only comes in the small bottle, though I wouldn’t pay for a larger one as I see it as an extra layer rather than my own perfume; the longevity is good but the sillage is very short, and it’s no surprise that’s the weak point of any Jo Malone.
