It feels like a tribute to the great perfumes of the eighties: intense, warm, sensual and bold. It does not go unnoticed and is not subtle. The quality is evident immediately with the rose and violet, while the amber adds an incredible velvety sweetness. At the moment, it reminds me of Yves Saint Laurent’s Paris with a touch of Guerlain’s Insolence, probably due to the violet. This delight lasts about 5 hours, then close to the skin it becomes powdery and talcum-like. It has excellent longevity and projection. It is an oriental floral that takes you to a beautiful, slightly exaggerated place… for me, it is ideal for the opera. Despite this, it is versatile; I have worn it to work and did not feel out of place. I suppose many will find it heavy and label it as a perfume for older ladies, but I find it exciting and unforgettable. Nowadays, it is difficult to find something like this, as subtlety is the norm.
What a fantastic perfume! One of those that are no longer made. The rose and violet leaves are noticeable against a creamy base. The trail and longevity are excellent. It smells expensive and exquisite. Yes, someone might say it is for older women, but I couldn’t care less; I am absolutely delighted feeling distinguished and elegant for so little money. Could you ask for more? And the bottle is gorgeous too.
Perfect for autumn and winter: projects for 3 hours and lasts 7-8 hours on my skin. It is elegant and definitely not ‘for older women’; perhaps the rose and violet suggest it, but they are refined, feminine scents. Best for formal or semi-formal events in the evening, though it works well in the office too. Smells of rose and violet with a spicy kick of pepper at the start and lots of musk afterwards. I imagine a bouquet of flowers bathed in musk with a trail of pepper. I would wear this as Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Bennet at the ball in Pride and Prejudice: elegant, feminine, and with character. Perhaps not everyone will like it, but if you enjoy those florals, it is a safe bet.
Smells identical to Clinique’s Aromatics in White, with notes of labdanum or ambergris. Very sensual and affordable, perfect for cold days.
Beautiful, unintentionally intense and full of life. Arabic perfumes are in a league of their own; I truly adore this one.
