Smells of laurel and white woods, an aromatic green note with clean wood, nothing deep or oud-like. It’s not ‘clean-fresh’, but fresh without being green or citrusy. I need to layer it with something sweet (not gourmand), like ‘Lord of Misrule’, because it’s very aromatic. It’s exquisite and unique, but don’t buy it blindly: it’s intense and won’t suit everyone.

Imagine a tranquil forest with sunlight filtering through and warm ground; it’s not sweet or floral, but minimalist, meditative, and deep, almost ritualistic. On skin, it’s close with a soft yet persistent trail, ideal for discreet and sophisticated fragrances. Lasts about 6-8 hours. It’s a warm embrace of woods and resins, sober and comforting, perfect for lovers of woody and spiritual scents.

  I walked into a LUSH and was immediately struck: a vast array of natural products in a welcoming atmosphere. I wasn’t looking for creams, but when I headed to the perfumes, I found a surprise: they make astonishing fragrances! Original and of extremely high quality, matching the price (they are not cheap). My nose couldn’t keep up; they are surprising, challenging, and fun scents. After some hesitation, I settled on SHADE. It is not declared, but alongside the sandalwood, I detect a pleasant, rough vetiver, though perhaps I am imagining it. It is simple yet very original. The atomiser and bottle are disappointing, but the contents are first-rate. It is a personal bubble, consistent, and lasts around 6-7 hours. The imagination of these people leaves you speechless. SHADE is one of the most elegant I have tried; others are gimmicks or caricatures, but all are wonderful. It is worth discovering.

  It’s a winter fragrance where palo santo stands out over sandalwood and frankincense. Very woody and earthy; personally, I didn’t like it.
