I’m absolutely taken with the raspberry trail, although the rosemary gives me a bit of a whiff at first. It then transforms into a delightful sweet scent. I keep it in my collection for those days when I fancy something sweet but without going overboard.
It’s incredibly addictive and smells straight out of Ricola candies.
The name ‘Junk’ (rubbish) is pure Lush humour, but watch out: it’s not rubbish until the bottle is empty. Although the ingredient list (Sicilian lemon, green mandarin, rosemary and sage) suggests a standard herbal and citrus scent, the magic happens: it smells of blackcurrant without actually containing it. It’s like those Swiss herbal Ricola pearls, a pure blackcurrant scent peeking through the edges of the notes. It’s a lovely, charming and very unisex fragrance that lasts about six hours on the skin and longer on clothes. Ideal for daytime or informal hot evenings; at work it might sound a bit naive and for romantic dates it’s not the typical sex bomb, but it does boost confidence because the wearer can’t be a bad person. Value for money: notable. It’s not niche or a unicorn, but it is a conceptual author fragrance, fresh and unconventional. I’d wear it on spring mornings to combat lethargy and make life more bearable.
