It’s elegant, not intrusive, and easy to wear in any situation. Its great asset is that it’s very pleasant. Its flaw is that it doesn’t stand out. It’s designed to please everyone with a soft, cosy aroma, so it’s easy to overlook, but it won’t say much to a trained nose. It smells like sweet, warm soap. Far too expensive for what it offers.
A colleague gifted me a sample of Loewe Solo. My first impression was a smell of sweat. Yes, SWEAT! A scent that was too citrusy and acidic that my nose didn’t like at all; I even went so far as to smell my opposite arm pit to check if I was smelling bad myself. Then, after a few minutes, it settled and became a clean, fresh fragrance that leaves a neat impression (setting aside the first few minutes). After a while, it becomes more powdery, perhaps too much for me, but it maintains the citrus freshness. It’s not a bad aroma, but it’s not for me. Ideal for the office if you’re looking for a clean, tidy, and formal appearance.
Fantastic, noble, brutal, and elegant, very sexy. It has tremendous longevity, but a piece of advice: don’t overdo it. Women like to smell it close to the skin. It has good projection, but in an overdose it loses its conquering magic. Without a doubt, one of Loewe’s best.
When I first encountered it, I had mixed feelings, but it has grown on me considerably. At first glance, I thought it would be generic and linear, but within the realm of ‘ordinary’ scents, it stands out for its personality: it evolves from fresh and light to dense, from acidic to slightly sweet and powdery, from sharp bitterness to clean and comforting, all without stepping out of line, very correct and balanced. A detail: the sweat. At first, it scared me; it reminded me of childhood or teenage sweat, but it turns out to be extremely sexy and original. It’s that clean, sour sweat of slightly salty skin, a kind of virgin sexuality. An acid-sour-spicy accord. It’s not the sweat of a overripe grapefruit, nor spices under the arm. It’s licking clean skin in summer, skin you would devour. The finish isn’t oriental; the sweetness comes from woods and patchouli, without losing the citrus character. Curiously, the sillage stays fresh while close to the skin it smells more sweet-woody. I believe it’s a modern classic and the most versatile fragrance I own; I use it day and night, regardless of situation or season. Light yet intense, with superb sillage and longevity, and I’ve never gotten nose fatigue.
In the end, I had to buy it. After trying it several times and playing mouse and cat with similar options, it inevitably ended up on my shelf. Sober, elegant, and balanced aroma. Good projection for an hour, sillage for two or three, and bone-dry on skin after seven to eight hours. Quite good for my case, usable all year round and in almost any circumstance. Very versatile, ideal between 25 and 50 years old. It shines in work or formal events. Beautiful bottle. Comes with a mini inside. Nothing beats getting out of the shower, shaving, using the aftershave, and spraying on skin and clothes. Clean, fresh… Excellent.
If you look at the original posters, you expect something original and unconventional. Loewe Solo is fresh, citrusy, with discreet spices. It’s charismatic at first, but then you have to actively sniff to notice it; it becomes generic and unexciting. It’s fine for the office or informal use, but nothing more. The bottle makes you imagine something much grander than it actually is.
I was gifted a sample of this Loewe. My father absolutely loved the scent; he was intrigued the next day because it was still noticeable, with citrus notes, green (mint) and a sweet touch (cinnamon, vanilla). It’s low intensity and evolves into a woody, sweet scent with musk and cleanliness. It’s a hit for his taste; he was as happy as a child with a new toy. The price left me speechless, but seeing his face made every penny worth it.
I tried it in-store and although I was looking for the Cedar version, this one seemed rich and pure to me. However, I found it a bit muted, lacking brightness, and it didn’t convince me despite liking the smell. In the end, I went for the Solo Platinum instead.
I absolutely love the scent, although it might be a touch too sweet for my taste. Loewe has a fragrance in my top 5, but this one simply fails on my skin: it performs nothing. No projection, no sillage. I like the aroma, but on my body it lasts less than three hours even with an overdose. I wish I could say something positive out of respect for the brand, but it’s far too expensive for what it offers. Edit: I’m talking about a brand new 15ml sample. I remember it performed better before; I don’t know if they reformulated it or if I just got unlucky with this batch.
It’s the only fragrance I totally reject. I’ve never understood how anyone could like it; to me, it smells like a public bathroom with cheap air freshener, a mix of excrement and chemicals. It’s never happened with any other scent, but this time it has. My partner bought it for me, and I endured it for a few months hoping I’d get used to it, but it’s impossible.
What does Loewe Solo EDT smell like? It smells like a creamy tangerine ice cream palette or a Fanta soda with a hint of guava. The tangerine is sweet and artificial. The spices prevent the sweetness from becoming excessively cloying, although it still does. The perfume feels more balanced in the second stage. It transforms into a spiced amber with green nuances, anise, and woody notes. You can also detect some cinnamon and vanilla. The creamy tangerine and synthetic guava persist throughout the life of the fragrance. It is all at once: fruity, citrusy, herbal, spiced, floral, fresh, heavy, and slightly aquatic. In my opinion, it is too complex for its own good. I am still searching for a Loewe fragrance I like enough to buy a 100 ml bottle. Do you have any suggestions? Let me know in the comments. Review based on a purchased sample.
Loewe Solo is already a classic, with the peculiarity that you keep coming back to wear it and fall in love with it all over again as if it were the first time. It feels natural, goes with you without issues, and sits just right between elegance and sportiness; in this regard, Solo knows how to do it. Perhaps for its price, it does not achieve a dizzying long-lasting trail, but in intermediate seasons, it is priceless. A paradigm of masculinity.
Its new flanker is now available: SOLO LOEWE MERCURIO in Eau de Parfum.
Among the versatile ones, this is my favourite. I love that subtle, slightly powdery sweet orange (but not too much, more like a ripe fruit), with occasional sharp and bitter flashes, and at times fresh bursts. Longevity is not bad, although perhaps it lacks a bit of force to be rounded and considered the Habit Rouge of this century.
It is quite a classic. It survives to this day despite the multitude of perfumes with new and original notes. Perfect for any season and especially for daytime. It lacks sensuality, being more of a cordial, traditional-cut aroma. Excellent for lovers of tradition and family life. It begins fresh with non-edible, refreshing oranges, quickly moving to a spiced aroma with a prominent nutmeg, warmth from ambered woods, and a very subtle touch of lavender. It has good performance, fixation, and trail. Loewe perfumes are not groundbreaking; they are in the vein of classicism. Loewe Solo follows this trajectory. My father has used it for a long time (he adored lavender fragrances) and it suited him perfectly for work in a suit and tie. The aroma reminds me of offices, business visits, and meetings. It always works well in such settings. Classic, masculine, daytime, and ideal for older fathers. It has enough personality to be a signature scent.
Among the few Loewe fragrances I like, only this one and Loewe Agua are worth it; they are the most decent offerings from the house, while the rest of the line has disappointed me. Loewe Solo is very citrusy, but leans more towards orange and tangerine. I would buy Loewe Solo if it had more projection, as that is its weak point.
I started testing it in stores, liking it more each time until I finally bought it… I fall in love with it more every day. Projection is somewhat low, around two hours, but longevity on skin reaches up to 15 hours. It smells very rich; perhaps it is one of Loewe’s best. I consider it more for daytime and days that are not too cold; there are more potent fragrances to keep for winter. However, I dislike Loewe 7 due to its incense, although it is also a very good perfume.
I used it for a year, the 75 ml version. To me, it smells of sour orange and little else, before shifting into an abstract odour reminiscent of goat urine, which is quite unpleasant. I used it simply because I already owned it. Projection and longevity are low. That is all I can say: I do not recommend it.
This is a citrusy and woody masculine fragrance, exquisite but intimate. The longevity is decent, though the trail is minimal; after three hours, it is barely detectable unless right up against the skin. It reminds me of the vibe of ‘The One’ by Dolce & Gabbana, not so much the scent but the atmosphere, perfect for close encounters and dates. While ‘Solo’ feels more masculine with a less obvious amber note than ‘The One’, the balance of notes is magical, and among all the flankers, I remain with the original.
As my colleagues rightly say, this is a very personal fragrance. I find it quite acidic and complex, yet perfectly balanced. It smells wonderful and distinct, carrying that Sugar Daddy vibe of Terre d’Hermes: elegant, opulent, and mature, ideal for those over 30. It lasts about six hours on skin with moderate projection. If you like it, buy blind; it has already passed the test.
Fragrance for men. For men. 40-year-old boys abstain. Lads of 25 with clear heads, this is your perfume. Classic, beautiful, timeless. To give you an idea… do you like Dior Sauvage Elixir? well, I do too, PER-FU-MA-ZO, so friends, it has a family resemblance to this that makes one suspect its parentage. Jokes aside, it’s as if the roughness of the Dior is polished a bit, its darkness is lightened and a light citrus touch is added. A citrus opening with lavender and pine; with that special guava note that makes it unique. Then arises a leather that is nothing coarse but masculine with a plus of citrus that gives continuity to the tangerine at the beginning, and a very light vanilla note that gives it a sweetness suitable for diabetics. A characterful and quality fragrance. Good performance.
I’m sorry, very stately, not suitable for young people, it gives the impression of being a bit outdated. Another perfume with amber is Intuition by Lauder; I believe it is better crafted than this Loewe.
It is said that Loewe has excellent fragrances, but this was not my best choice. It’s just a sharp, difficult-to-wear, very invasive and retro scent, not for me… pity that whenever I see something from Loewe in perfumerie, I go to another shelf; the bad memory of Solo remains.
I was given a sample or vial… I must say it’s not like what comes out now… it’s like from the citrus woody family, type Creed Original Vetiver and Maria Farina by Roger Gallet; ‘citrus – serious’. Not for the young…
It’s not my style; I bought it as a collector’s item for the good price, but I find it hard to use. It’s old school, vintage; I perceive it as citrusy and sparkling, spicy and woody. It’s for formal to semi-formal occasions and daytime, nothing for extreme climates. Not recommended for very young people or lovers of trendy perfumes, because there is something else here. It’s a perfume that paints grey hair. I think the 125ml will last me forever because I enjoy using it little, but this is personal. Performance is more than acceptable.
Hello, here’s a 60-year-old woman reviewing this Loewe. I like woody fragrances; I grew up with them. I managed to get a decant in my country at an expensive perfumerie; I applied it to the back of my wrists and voilá, love at first splash. After weeks I could buy the bottle, which cost a bit more than the $60 on the website. It has fresh, woody, clean nuances and is what I’m looking for to wear for 8 hours in the office. It reminds me of my youth love, Aliage by Estée Lauder, a discontinued classic. By the end of the day I feel its faint but persistent scent. Longevity on skin: 10 hours. Trail is moderate but with compliments; people ask about it and are amazed that it’s for men. For me it’s unisex, but the woman who wears it must be confident and not mind the criticism.
A rich, fresh, citrusy, slightly fruity scent, but it has a light trail that fades in under an hour; on dry skin about 6-8 hours depending on pH. It’s a fragrance for mature men, over 40.
Masculine, compliment-generating, for strong and confident people… A very spicy fragrance with a citrus opening and marked evolution, finishing in the comfort of musky woods, passing through a spicy sweetness wrapped in aldehydes, that note that drives me crazy in Chanel No. 22 and No. 5, and it’s there. Also, oakmoss is the star of this dance. Made in Spain and of international renown, one cannot settle for a small dose. 🕯️ 9/10.🔥
It’s a fragrance I like; it marked a turning point in perfumery for its complexity between warmth and freshness, but something is missing, perhaps longevity.
As soon as you spray it, you get citrus notes reminiscent of Nenuco but more aromatic, thanks to lavender, rosemary and thyme, with a mentholated touch. It then softens and guava, cinnamon, anise and nutmeg come in; a citrus, anise and talc-like chorus. Gradually, creamy woods and amber join in until the vibrancy fades and only the musky touch remains. The guava lasts all day, perfectly combined. You don’t need to shower to wear it for any occasion or season; it’s a bit off-putting in the heat but not bad, I use it in moderation. It’s a peculiar scent, familiar in Spain, with only clones available. It adds seriousness and maturity, although 18-year-olds wear it; I’m 20 and have worn it to parties, dates and university. In short, it’s classic, different and pleasant.
They gave it to me for Christmas… I don’t know if it is my skin or the reformulation, but it does not last more than three hours on the skin and disappears completely. I have let it macerate and it remains the same. The scent is versatile and refined, perfect for the office but not for people under 30. It does not suit me and it does not last, so I will finish it by giving it away.
Only Loewe is different; I think I am the only one using it in my city. I love it: it has a fresh, aromatic, calm, and sophisticated performance. It maintains a personal bubble, just what I am looking for. Nothing invasive. It is versatile and masculine. On my skin it lasts the whole day and on clothes until the next day.
The current formula does not last or project; with the first spray, you have to press your nose against your skin to feel it. The first version was very rich. I compare its fruity/aldehydic opening with Minotauro by Paloma Picasso: a very clean, different, and masculine scent, rare because it is neither totally sweet nor fresh. The aroma tries to encompass all sensations from start to finish, which makes it not very evolutive; the beginning is perceived as much as the end, with slight changes but nothing distinct. I recommend it for cold, cloudy, or rainy days, where its performance is better. In heat it is bad and the aroma becomes annoying.
It is a light and pleasant fragrance, without many pretensions, very much in the Loewe style. On my skin, the longevity and projection are very scarce.
It smells like a cockroach infestation. Literally. It is not that Loewe seeks to copy that smell, it is that insecticide brands have copied this aroma until saturation. It is a pity.
When I discovered it, I thought it was unique and very different from what I used. I believe the performance has declined over the years; the first edition I had was more potent than the one today and it no longer feels like the same quality. However, it is delicious.
I have had it for a year and I still try to like it. I give it a chance after another, but nothing. It smells old on me, even annoying if I spray it heavily. Unfortunately, I only use it occasionally so as not to waste my favourite perfumes.
I have an affection for it because it was one of the first to blow my mind. It seemed incredible to me, and although it is not youthful, people liked it. It is complex and difficult to explain. The opening is citrusy with peel, fresh but slightly bitter. Gradually, spices and the warmth of amber and wood appear. Then the intensity fades. If this were 2015, I would say it was a beast in terms of sillage and longevity, but in 2025 it is the shadow of what it once was. It projects for about two hours and on skin for around six, after which it is barely noticeable on clothes. Furthermore, they have diluted it and raised the price: the 100ml cost 70€ in 2022, now it is 90€. They also changed the bottle for an ugly one that does not hold up well. I have it as a gift, but I would not give Loewe even a euro for it.
Only Loewe smells elegant, sober, and mature, very well-balanced for men of good taste. It is an adult and refined profile, nothing strident. It stands out for its harmony rather than its power. The opening is citrusy, fresh, and clean thanks to the lavender. You can detect a herbal and green mandarin with a floral touch of orange blossom and a sweet guava that softens without being too cloying. As it dries down, that mandarin turns into a creamy orange; the blend gains body without losing freshness. The base has subtle woods and spices with a light amber nuance, nothing heavy. It is wearable anytime, ideal as a signature scent due to its balance. It shines more in temperate climates; in the cold it feels thin, and in intense heat it loses definition. I see myself wearing it in spring. It doesn’t project much, it is a close-scented fragrance; you smell it when you approach. On my skin it lasts 5-6 hours, its only flaw considering the price. It makes me feel clean and elegant, and that is what matters. A classic that deserves a place in a good collection.
It is a solid perfume, uncomplicated and without any pretensions to attract attention. Sober, masculine, and elegant, with acceptable longevity. The projection is medium-low, but it smells intense when you get close. I can’t identify all the notes, but it starts citrusy and fresh; as it dries down, it leaves a non-sweet orange with woods and amber. I’m not sure if I’ll buy it again because I want to explore other things and, given my age, I can’t see myself wearing something so sober on a daily basis. But it’s good and will stay in my collection.
