Descripción

Star Men by Fragrance World is an oriental fougère fragrance for men. Launched during the 2010s, this composition features a vibrant combination of fruits, spices, mint, bergamot, coriander and lavender in its top notes. The heart unfolds with patchouli, caramel, honey, milk, jasmine, cedar and water lily, while the base notes settle elegantly upon a bed of coffee, vanilla, sandalwood, tonka bean, amber, benzoin and musk.

At first I HATED it (Chocolate with Mint is not to my liking). I looked for a buyer, also for exchange or as a gift, but in the end I kept it; they are of those you have to have patience with and give them their scents carefully. After a few days, I already had it proudly in my COLLECTION.

At first I hated this Chocolate Mint, I didn’t like it at all. I was looking for it to give away or swap, but in the end I kept it. It’s one of those that requires patience and smelling it calmly; after a few days, I now wear it proudly in my collection.

  • Star Men is a very well-executed clone of Mugler’s A*Men. I agree with the previous review mentioning that its opening is a bit chaotic, but in its dry down we find 90% similarity with the scent it is inspired by, and that is quite good. Its performance is not outstanding, reaching about 6 hours. However, neither is the duration of Mugler’s original fragrance outstanding, so I consider this is fine. The quality-price ratio of Star Men is unbeatable. If you are a fan of gourmand scents with that nineties and nocturnal character, this fragrance is for you. I recommend it without a doubt.

  • Star Men by Fragrance World, a true hidden gem. I bought it with low/null expectations, and now I struggle to tell which arm has the Mugler A*Men and the clone. The opening is a bit chaotic between mint and coriander with sweet notes, the initial part is a bit weak, but after 5 minutes it goes to the original’s dry down; up close and from a distance it is identical (with capital letters). The current L’Oreal versions of Mugler that I tested have barely more quality and less duration than this Star Men, a pity for the price they have for the public (a scam to be more accurate). The dry down reminds me of the versions manufactured by Clarins back in 2011-2017, under the Thierry Mugler logo, a coffee with chocolate and semi-burnt milk, wrapped in a burnt tar-rubber that some call it. For $22 it is the best they can have on the shelf; surprising the level of precision in the notes and development, have we entered a new era? Jacques Huclier would be surprised by this tribute in EDP version. Duration and projection to be edited soon. Note 9/10.

  • I’ve been smelling this SCENT sporadically since I was a CHILD, of course the ORIGINAL “A*MEN by MUGLER” (1996), and this one seems to be a great DUPE. Curiously, I’ve always associated it with a GRANDFATHER or someone quite mature, not by coincidence but because those who wore it were mostly people like that. It has a very marked EIGHTIES and NINETIES vibe, however, I feel it is perfectly TIMELESS as nowadays there are many SCENTS of this CALIBRE, so SWEET, SPICED, which they call “GOURMAND”. And it is that this PERFUME gives you the sensation of smelling CHOCOLATE, MINT, COFFEE, and even MILK among so many other NOTES; it is quite deep and somewhat COMPLEX. Those who like CACAO and COFFEE will love it, that for sure. On the other hand, it seems to be a SMELL for COLD, RAINY, or MILD DAYS and NIGHTS; it doesn’t seem to be a FRAGRANCE for EXTREME HEAT seasons, although one uses what they FEEL at that moment. If I were to use it in SUMMER, I would prefer it in the morning or at night without a doubt. This SMELL is practically one of the PIONEERS in following that well SWEET-EDIBLE trend, which is ABUNDANT nowadays. It makes you crave a piece of CHOCOLATE CAKE with COFFEE in the morning especially. Years ago I didn’t LOVE it, whereas nowadays I do, and quite a bit. 9/10.🤎🍫🍰☕🥛

Incredible fragrance. At first, it didn’t convince me, but after giving it a couple of tries and letting it sit for a few days, I can’t stop using it. Some feel it’s only for nights or extreme cold; I would say it’s a perfect fragrance for daily use in autumn/winter, perhaps in spring for the colder days, as it’s not a heavy fragrance, making it suitable for daily wear.

  • Star Men is a men’s fragrance from the woody amber family that captivates with its lavender and mint notes, offering a fresh and invigorating opening. The vibrant, energetic heart is created thanks to fruity and spicy notes, along with coriander and green notes. Bergamot and caramel add a sweet and citrusy touch, while patchouli and honey add a rich, enveloping depth. A creamy, warm base with notes of milk, cedar, jasmine, and tuberose, with hints of coffee and vanilla. A sophisticated finish with a tonka bean, benzoin, amber, sandalwood, and musk accord that leaves an irresistible and long-lasting trail. The performance is magnificent; it lasts on the skin for over 8 hours, with a heavy sillage for the first hour and moderate sillage for several hours more. It is a dense fragrance that causes anosmia; even if you don’t perceive it, others do, so be cautious with the sprays. Star Men is a brilliantly executed dupe of the A*Men icon from Thierry Mugler, in its original version before it was reformulated. It is a strong, gourmand, sweet, fresh, and woody scent, ideal for men with character and personality. It is sensational for evening wear and cold climates. Perfect for informal gatherings, outdoor events, and concerts. Its strong personality and presence make it suitable for men who are not afraid to stand out and don’t mind what others think.

At first, I found it hard to process, but that blend of fresh mint and chocolatey coffee intrigued me so much it confused me. Then I slowly grew to appreciate it, and now I absolutely love it. The fact that this cost me $14 in my country is absolutely bonkers.
