  Since I delved into the world of Frederic Malle, Carnal Flower has become my absolute king and one of my go-to fragrances. Within the brand, Dominique Ropion’s creations are my favourites, though Superstitious didn’t take to me at first. The opening caught my attention with that rose water and aldehyde scent my grandmother used when I was a child, but as it dried down, I found it rather unpleasant. Over time, however, the more I wore it, the more I came to enjoy it. The opening remains exquisite, but now I adore the dry down, where the floral blend of rose and jasmine and that incense note truly shine. It has gradually become my second favourite, just behind Carnal Flower and ahead of Musc Ravageur or Promise, which are also my classics. The performance is spectacular: it’s a longevity bomb with a notable sillage (and it’s worth it, even if there are pricier fragrances that fail to deliver). I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly, nor should you dismiss it if you don’t like it at first, as I see many people reacting the same way. Those who love Chanel No. 5, Arpège by Lanvin, or Boucheron will surely end up loving it as much as I do. Although it may seem feminine, I see it as unisex and would wear it at any time. Scent: 9.5, Longevity: 10, Sillage: 8.5, Value for money: 6, Originality: 8, Versatility: 8, Overall: 9.5
