It sets bright fruit and spice against an herbal, floral leather heart and a resinous, woody, green base.
Top notes bring together Bulgarian Damask rose, saffron, passion fruit, apple and juniper berry. The rose supplies opulent floral character, saffron lends spice, and orchard and exotic fruit with juniper keep the opening lifted.
At the centre, thyme, leather, lily of the valley, Singapore patchouli, gentian, ambergris and tea take over. Bitter herbs and a tea infusion shape the leather, muguet adds lightness, grey amber adds saline depth.
The dry-down features incense, suede, labdanum, Indian sandalwood, pine and oakmoss. Suede rounds the more animalic side, while incense and labdanum thicken the resins over a green, woody foundation.
The flavour of the whole is aromatic, leathery and ambery, fresh and green and fruity, edged with floral, sweet, spiced and animalic nuances. A leather of contrast: radiant at first, earthy and grounded at the close.
It will appeal to wearers who favour a contemporary shared leather with herbs, fruit and spice rather than a heavy traditional leather. Ideal for devotees of rose, thyme, tea and resinous woods.
