About Te Whitinga
Te Whitinga: Leather, Myrrh and Amber in a Wooded Glow
Te Whitinga by O Te Rā is a woody oriental scent for women and men, introduced in 2026. The perfumers behind it are Romain Keller and Pierre Flores.
The structure opens with green, powder-soft freshness, settles into woods and resins at its core, then rests on a warm bed of leather, vanilla and amber.
At the top are juniper, iris and cypress. Juniper lends a cool green note with a hint of resin, cypress brings out the timbered character, and iris softens the whole with a powdery touch.
The middle brings patchouli, woody notes, resins and myrrh. Here the blend turns at its most balsamic, with myrrh and resins cushioning the woods while patchouli keeps the framework steady and dry.
Underneath lie leather, musk, vanilla, honey and amber. Leather provides animalic depth, honey and vanilla offer gentle sweetness, and musk with amber lends a cosy, enveloping warmth.
Overall the impression is amber, leather, balsamic, animalic, powdery, warm-spiced, sweet and woody. A unisex creation with a calm, gradual development, aimed at those who enjoy resin-rich orientals with a mellow sweet base.
It should appeal to wearers who like unisex amber-leather perfumes with powdery iris, dry woods, myrrh and a honeyed vanilla finish. Well placed for admirers of warm balsams worn close yet with presence.
Te Whitinga journeys from green to sweet by way of resin: cypress and juniper first, myrrh and woods next, leather and amber last. A Flores and Keller composition that clarifies O Te Rā's take on the woody oriental style.
