  I tried it recently in a perfumery. I applied it to both arms and on blotter paper. It does not resemble its aquatic siblings; at the start it smells very much of almonds, with no citrus notes. Afterwards, the talc-like touch of the musk remains, and close to the skin the amber is noticeable. The longevity… on my skin it was terrible, it stayed close to the skin, with no trail and not even for my sister. At best, about two hours in my case. I stick with the flanker from last year, Ocean di Gioia, but I had to try it. If you like almonds, you will surely like it.

  Terra di Gioia smells airy, warm and pleasant. It is a blend of dusty almonds, soft flowers and a clean, velvety musk. This fusion makes it delicate and charming. That musk with the talc-like notes and almonds gives it a clean touch, almost like freshly washed baby clothes. I was surprised because I expected something more potent and balsamic, but it is not like that. It has been a pleasant surprise in terms of scent, I liked it very much. It smells like a second skin, strange but it conveys that to me. The downside is that it is very soft, the trail is low and it lasts about 5 hours.

  This is a perfume where amber is the undisputed king. It starts fruity, but on my skin nothing citrusy, just fresh. Sweet, but without going overboard. The amber is there from the very first second until the very end. As it dries down, the almond note dominates with a fresh, natural jasmine, nothing seductive. The trail is warm and creamy, without any sunscreen smell; sometimes it smells like soft honey. It’s super versatile, ideal for everyday wear and any season. More of a day scent than a night one, perfect for the office where you don’t want to overpower. As they say, it smells like a second skin. The performance is a blessing: it has great chemistry with me. It doesn’t project much, it’s for enjoying, but I have received compliments. On my skin it lasts clearly around 6 hours, and close to the skin 8-10, which is a success for this type of fragrance. Many find it fails, but I am lucky. If you like the scent, try it on your skin before giving up on it because of its reputation. In short, I love it. It is a different Gioia from the previous ones and fulfils my search for work.
