Created by Shadi Samra for Scent Boulevard, Tonka Oud is a unisex woody fragrance introduced in 2023. It pairs an invigorating start with a mellow, enveloping base.
Bergamot, lavender, lime and grapefruit lead the opening, followed by jasmine, patchouli, Bulgarian rose and tonka bean, resting on amber, cashmere wood, oakmoss, guaiac wood, vanilla and white musk.
The first impression is crisp and citrus-led. Grapefruit and lime lend brightness, bergamot adds juiciness, lavender keeps it neat and aromatic.
At the heart, the florals come forward. Jasmine lifts the blend, Bulgarian rose softens it, and a measured touch of patchouli brings earthy shading.
Tonka bean provides the bridge. Its sweet, comforting character carries the florals towards amber and vanilla.
The base is smooth rather than heavy. Amber and vanilla meld with white musk, while cashmere wood, guaiac wood and oakmoss give a soft, slightly powdery woodiness.
There is a pleasant balance of citrus, woods, musk and amber, with powdery and gently spiced facets rounding the edges.
