A nard with ylang-ylang, jasmine, and woody notes, though the nard stands out. It’s intense, creamy, sweet, elegant, and modern. It lasts me more than seven hours and projects moderately. It’s not for me as I get saturated by sweet nardos, but within this category, it’s one of my favourites.
Tubereuse Imperiale from BDK was a pleasant surprise; it’s not a loud nard. It dominates the composition, but jasmine and ylang-ylang soften it until it becomes creamy and silky, with a peach-like fruity touch and a woody base. Worth trying for being original, high quality, and having good longevity and projection. I see it as more unisex than others of its type, though with a feminine touch, ideal for temperate climates (it can be overwhelming in the heat) and for various occasions. Rating: 8/10.
This is a beautiful perfume and one of the most potent from BDK. Here, the nard isn’t soft or secondary; if you don’t like this note, I doubt you’ll like it. But if you do, or if it depends on how it’s blended, give it a chance. These are dense, creamy nardos, slightly solar mixed with skin, and a notable ylang-ylang, with a warm vanilla base. Despite the potency, it doesn’t feel heavy to me; they’ve found the middle ground. Initially, it smells of sticky nard, but as it dries down, it becomes soft and refined. Good performance: medium projection, notable trail, and eight hours on skin. Feminine, versatile, and ideal for any season (except extreme heat). It’s not unique, but it’s beautiful, with a good balance between seduction and elegance, and performance that exceeds the average. If you’re a fan of nardos, try it. Plus, I always get compliments.
Tubereuse Imperiale is an elegant and refined nard, as its name suggests. These are dense, creamy nardos enhanced by ylang-ylang, sweet but balanced. Unlike Velvet Vanilla, which is sticky and borders on sickly, this isn’t heavy or anything. It also smells of jasmine, is slightly powdery and woody. As it dries down, it becomes sweeter and creamier with vanilla, sandalwood, and benzoin. It’s elegant, sophisticated, and versatile. It transports me to a tropical island. It lasts about five hours with a medium-low trail. I love it, but I wouldn’t buy it because there are similar, more economical scents. My favourite from BDK is Gris Charnel in Extract. I ordered a set of four samples from BDK for €15. Tubereuse is currently out of stock but they restock. If you like nardos, give it a try.
Super feminine, versatile, and with good projection. I loved it, bought it as a decant, and now I want the full bottle.
Super feminine, versatile and with a lovely trail. I loved it so much I bought a decant and now I want the full bottle.
Creamy, feminine and sweet nard notes without being cloying. Lasts around six hours on the skin, though the projection is moderate. It’s a good perfume and a safe buy if you love nard, although there are cheaper options with similar scents. I bought a set of three travel sizes to try more, and I must confess that the 10ml of Tubereuse Imperiale won me over: now I have an empty travel bottle and a 100ml one I purchased less than a month ago, and I’m already down to 10ml. A beautiful perfume. It reminds me quite a bit of Rouge Malachite, but this feels creamier with more prominent nard notes. I adore wearing it on hot, humid days; it really shines. The trail is moderate and the longevity is beastly. When I wear it, I love the unexpected bursts of scent. It accompanies you subtly in a wonderful way.
Creamy, feminine, and sweet nardos without being cloying. It lasts six hours but with minimal trail. If you love nardos, it’s a safe buy, though there are cheaper options. I bought a travel set and Tubereuse Imperiale captivated me so much that I already have a 100ml bottle. It reminds me of Rouge Malachite but creamier with more pronounced nardos. Ideal for hot, humid days: it shines brilliantly. The trail is moderate but the longevity is beastly. I love that it throws unexpected bursts. It accompanies you wonderfully.
On my skin, it’s a rich white floral, yet so subtle that it barely projects; I have to lean in to smell it. A pity, because at this price point, it’s not worth it if I can’t enjoy the sillage. As always, give it a try and draw your own conclusions.
