Love at first sniff. A reflection man for everyday wear.
They’ve overlooked it, yet it’s fantastic. A vanilla scent reminiscent of Gucci Guilty Elixir, with moderate performance and a joy to wear. A brilliant hidden gem amidst Zara’s lacklustre offerings. Recommended for the price.
A hidden treasure in the world of perfumery. Bitter vanilla base but with an impressive richness 😍😍. Although iris isn’t listed, I detect a delicious base note.
A Gucci Guilty Elixir at 90% for 16€. In longevity and projection it doesn’t compete with the original, but it gives 5 hours of genuine enjoyment with the plus that you can use it without mercy or remorse. This is what an inspired fragrance is for. Soon I will get another bottle, as these Zara launches tend to be ephemeral.
A 90% Gucci Guilty Elixir for just €16. It doesn’t compete with the original in longevity or projection, but it offers 5 hours of authentic enjoyment, with the added bonus that you can wear it without guilt. This way, you keep the original for special occasions. This is what an inspired fragrance is for. I’ll be buying another bottle soon, as Zara’s releases tend to be ephemeral.
ZARA VANILLE 01: For vanilla lovers, it evokes this contrasting delight of sweetness and lightness. I agree it is very similar to Gucci Elixir; you always notice which is which, but it is a correct fragrance in composition, development and longevity. Accessible cost, although not a bomb, it doesn’t fall short. It is notable and lasts 4-5 hours. A rich fragrance, sweet from the vanilla but light and airy, even for a sunny or hot day without being cloying. Pleasant to perceive. Usable at all hours, but night is its season. Can be attractive, striking, suggestive and sexy. An aroma that hasn’t made noise but surely will. Aroma: 10. Projection: moderate 2h. Longevity: 4-5h Max. Cost-benefit ratio: Good. Recommended.
If you are going to buy it, don’t do so blindly. I was about to until I went to the shop. It smells like Axe Musk deodorant, I find it repulsive. It is soft, perhaps someone else might like it, but this is not for everyone.
ZARA VANILLE 01: For vanilla lovers, this contrasting delight blends sweetness and lightness. Very similar to Gucci Elixir; the difference is always noticeable, but it’s a well-composed fragrance with good development. Affordable cost; not a powerhouse, yet it doesn’t fall short, lasting 4 or 5 hours. Rich, sweet, yet light—ideal for hot weather without being cloying. While suitable for any time of day, night is its appointed season: attractive, striking, and sexy. A fragrance that hasn’t made much noise but surely will. Scent: 10. Projection: moderate (2 hours). Longevity: 4–5 hours max. Value for money: good. Recommended.
It’s a 7/10 inspiration of the Gucci Guilty Elixir pour homme, but not a blind buy due to notable differences. It captures the general aroma, but lacks the mentholated note of the Elixir, the osmotic quality that makes it dense, more talc-like and elegant, and greater purity in white flowers to be cleaner. It evolves towards something similar to One Million at the skin. The only downside is that randomly (1 in 10 times) it smells like cheap Axe deodorant. Lasts 3 hours on clothes with a present trail, well for its price. For 16€ it does the trick, capturing the main aroma. Gucci is a clean and elegant masterpiece, expensive but denotes quality, evolves, lasts longer and projects more. It offers a pleasant olfactory journey.
Delicious. I tried it casually at Zara and had to take it without thinking. It has a medicinal touch and vanilla in the base -not too sweet, with a talc nuance-. My nose wants to perceive lavender, but it will be some nuance of orange blossom. It reminds me of the dry-down of Ted Lapidus Pour Lui, which has a very ‘adult’ vanilla that is hardly sweetened.
I don’t know the Gucci Guilty Elixir, but it is very similar to a super low-cost perfume from my country (Argentina) that has existed for years: Amodil 23 Parfums Limited Edition.
Very fresh opening, vanilla without being cloying. It’s powdery vanilla, nothing creamy. Leaves me reminiscing of leather, very amber in the base but not warm or sweet. Generates a good bubble for 2-3 hours with an attractive base. Then it evolves to a skin scent, powdery vanilla. It resembles the dry-down of Prada Black very closely. Smells good, but leans towards unisex feminine. Seems a bit classic.
I walked past smelling Zara fragrances and this is one of the few I liked. Still, I wouldn’t buy it: it smells good, but at that price I could buy an Arabic fragrance that smells much better and has better presentation.
A total discovery that led me to obsessively research its DNA looking for Gucci Elixir, Shiyaq, Amouage or something from Risala. For the price, it’s a gift; hard to describe to a novice but it has earned me compliments. Dark vanilla, slightly smoky, notable skin scent lasting 4/5 hours with good initial projection. The musk mixed with the florals potentiates my skin, giving it a clean/dark addictive touch. Autumn/winter creates a spectacular bubble; summer nights controlled with sprays remain seductive. On hard clothes or leather, incredible bursts. It’s not a commercial fragrance, it marks personality. If it lasted 8 hours it would be a 10. Price doesn’t hurt, although with Gucci the longevity issue is solved. Fear that it will disappear; I feel like buying four bottles.
A vanilla unlike the typical designer ones, with exceptions like Gucci Guilty Elixir or its clone. Though I haven’t tested them side by side, it smells very similar and is well-executed: an intriguing vanilla with white flowers giving it a masculine, disruptive air, a powdery and medicinal base, perhaps iris but very different from the classics by Dior, Givenchy or Prada. Lasting power is correct (6-7 hours), decent projection for the price, though far from the nuclear potency of Gucci. Zara brought me close to that aromatic nirvana I experienced in duty-free with Gucci, for just 20,000 CLP. Congratulations to the brand; I only hope they don’t discontinue it as they did with other greats. If you love Guilty Elixir, this is essential in your collection.
