  1. I feel as though I’ve won a prize and been whisked away to a cabin in the woods. Outside it’s cold and stormy, but inside, bathed in candlelight, the atmosphere is warm and cosy by the fireplace. The fire burns perfectly without any smoke, and I detect delicious scents: black vanilla from Tahiti and Madagascar, balsamic Styrax resin, tonka beans with almond rum, and a cinnamon stick. It all blends with the aroma of a freshly filled pipe. It’s pure calm; I can only hear the crackling of the fire and my own heartbeat. When I wake up, the fire has gone out and someone has added fresh logs. The vanilla and benzoin scent has faded, but a soft trace remains. The room feels fresh, yet a blanket keeps me warm and smells of tobacco, vanilla, cinnamon, and wood. Vanille Benjoin is comforting, very noticeable at first before becoming more subtle. The ambroxan is seamlessly integrated, not detracting from the fragrance’s path. It’s ideal for the colder months, far from being a sweet gourmand. I’ve loved it aromatically. Approved, though it lasted about four hours on my skin.
