  • I don’t understand Zara’s strategy: they have the original Vibrant Leather, then release rebranded versions like ‘From NY to Paris’, ‘Cologne’, and now ‘Summer’, which is the same thing. It seems they want to retain customers by selling the same fragrance every year. The perfume smells great for its price, but there’s nothing new.

  • Zara only lists bergamot, ginger, and cedar, but the box claims there’s tangerine, neroli, lotus, wood, and ambroxan. The opening is a sparkling ginger that lasts five minutes, then the tangerine adds a touch of sweetness. After 30 minutes, the neroli, lotus, and that ozonic note I detect emerge. The wood sits at the base, and the ambroxan gives it body. It’s unisex, for spring-summer and daytime only, nothing for night. To make it last 4-5 hours, you need to overapply. It reminds me of Zara’s Metallic Spirit. I suppose the name ‘Leather’ is just for sales, with no relation to the other fragrance.

I just bought it, and it’s an intense, strong citrus at the start, with only bergamot and ginger noticeable—the latter providing constant freshness. It’s simple and linear, but a work of art from Zara. I can still smell it on my wrist after four hours; I only applied two sprays, yet many people asked about the scent. Some younger girls didn’t like it, so it’s more suited to mature individuals who know what they want.

It’s the Vibrant Leather Cologne in a different bottle. It has a citrus opening that I love; the bergamot reveals the ginger after 10 minutes, then it stays exactly that, which isn’t bad. After six hours, it still smells right up against the skin. I spray it 8 to 10 times because it’s cheap ($17). The projection is moderate, noticeable at a metre. It’s 98% identical to Dior Homme but lasts a bit less. Very good; I’d repurchase.

I passed the centre and spotted the Dior Homme Cologne Sport; surprise, it smells the same as the Zara version. The Zara one projects more strongly and lasts longer, costing 20€ compared to the original’s 80€. They’re a 10/10 clone, but the only flaw is that it initially smells like lemon disinfectant and is so intense it overwhelms the senses for 30 minutes before settling down.

I agree with the previous reviewer: my girlfriend gifted me the set, and upon trying the Summer, I was perplexed by its resemblance to Dior Homme Cologne. On my skin, it lasted over six hours, and my partner could still smell it after I’d washed my hands. For under $23, you get something worth nearly $100, so I’m using it to alternate with the original and avoid spending too much. An absolute bargain! When I bought it again a month later, it was on offer for 350 pesos. I use it regularly and it never disappoints. My advice: spray a little on your shirt to make it last longer. It evolves little, but I don’t mind. Very good scent.

It’s a pure citrus scent, as if someone just sprayed lemon directly on you upon waking; it’s sharp and can be slightly irritating if overused. It has good longevity but weak projection, though after four hours the cedar emerges, making it pleasant and masculine. Ideal for hot days, the pool, or casual office wear. Nothing spectacular, but a decent proposition from Zara with the best bottles.

My girlfriend gifted me a Zara set, and upon trying the Vibrant Leather Summer, I was blown away: it smells identical to Dior Homme Cologne. On my skin, it lasted over six hours, and despite washing my hands several times, my partner could still smell it. For under $23, you get something worth nearly $100, so I’m using it to alternate with the original and save money. An absolute bargain!

  • It’s the same fragrance as VLC and, in turn, the same as From Paris To New York, which was truly Zara’s first release with this scent. I bought FPTNY back in the day and still have half a bottle left; testing them together, I detect perhaps a minimal difference, giving the impression of a stronger citrus opening in FPTNY and a fresher citrus note in VLS. I’m not sure if this is due to the age of the first version and a slight variation in the scent, or if they aren’t exactly the same. In any case, the differences are negligible if they exist at all. With this fragrance, Zara has hit the nail on the head again; it’s a simple yet completely addictive scent that is an essential for spring and especially summer. For me, it’s a wardrobe staple. The opening is a very prominent mix of lemon and mandarin that quickly gives way to touches of ginger, a note I personally adore. Together, they create a feeling of freshness, cleanliness, and pleasantness, as if they’re recharging your energy, very revitalising and addictive. As it dries down, you begin to perceive some ambroxan and woods. The longevity is good; in my case, it lasts at least six or seven hours, obviously with the last hours having no projection and staying closer to the skin. As advice, be careful with application zones; don’t overapply on areas closer to the nose, as the intense citrus opening can be overwhelming in the first few minutes, turning a delight into something suffocating. Totally recommended fragrance for its scent, longevity, and of course, its price.

I’ve tried VLC several times in-store and liked it. I was waiting for the heat and a possible offer to buy it, but when it disappeared from the website and I saw this new Summer version along with comments about its similarity and price drop, I went for it. In my opinion, it does resemble VLC, especially in the dry-down, but it’s not the exact same scent; the opening is less citrusy, still noticeable but not that strong lemon hit which was so impactful before. Last night I sprayed three times at home upon opening the box, and this morning at 9 am I could still smell it, though very, very faintly. I don’t know how it will behave outdoors in good weather, although I expect it will cut it. I bought it for €12.99 and am happy with the purchase, although I miss some of the potency I mentioned earlier; it will be a matter of applying more, but it’s a good option for spring and summer with a delightful scent, almost as good as DHC but much more economical.

I’m wearing it right now and it’s wonderful. After an initial sharp lemon burst that smells more like citronella to me, mixed with the spicy bitterness of ginger for about an hour, it gives way to a light, enveloping geranium note softened by neroli without losing its character. After several hours, the scent begins to fade into a subtle woody nuance of cedar. Undoubtedly, it’s a clean and crisp fragrance, uncomplicated and always earns compliments without fail; I would buy it again. A vanilla base would have made it slightly more sophisticated. It has very good longevity and a perfect trail extending over a metre; on a hot, windy day, you get little sparks of lemon. It’s a must-buy.

  • Maître Venus

This fragrance exceeded my expectations. It’s simple and very well-behaved, with an almost bitter, acidic lemon note that’s slightly soapy, evoking freshly laundered clothes. It’s not at all unpleasant or intrusive. It doesn’t evolve much, but after 30 minutes the lemon acidity fades, leaving the ginger note clearer alongside the bitter citrus. If you know Dior Homme Cologne, it’ll serve as a reference, as it’s almost exactly the same. It reminds me of being in an air-conditioned office, making it perfect for such a setting. I really like it; it was a blind buy.

An endless symphony of citrus from the very first spray. I used to wear CK One and thought it was one of the best citrus scents around, but that was simply because I hadn’t tried this one from Zara. It projects well, lasts long, and is far more delicious than CK One. It’s my faithful companion whenever the heat rises. A true marvel I can’t believe I’ve lived without until now. And of course, this Vibrant Summer is identical to the Vibrant Cologne; Zara has merely changed the name, even the bottle is the same.

  • I absolutely love it. It’s the best citrus perfume I’ve ever had for summer.

  • Just arrived. First impression is marked mandarin and ginger… a slight woody note in the base. Eventually, after several hours, only a faint woody trace remains close to the skin. Moderate longevity… we’ll see as I use it more… Moderate projection (closer to light). A lovely scent. Fresh, that ginger note… Incredible… It has personality, as unlike VL, it doesn’t resemble any other standout perfume. A good affordable option.

  • Chavez20@

I think it’s a brilliant summer scent. It projects well for the first two hours before fading completely within a maximum of six hours if worn indoors. The price-to-quality ratio seems acceptable, as I’ve owned perfumes costing double or triple the price with poorer performance. I wouldn’t buy it again simply because there are so many more to try, but I have absolutely no regrets owning it.

  • Like its siblings, Vibrant Leather Cologne or the original From Paris to New York. Identical to the reviews I’ve already written for those scents. HOWEVER… I will not forgive ZARA for the fact that, despite being identical in aroma, it lasts on the skin for less than half the time of its predecessors. I applied From Paris to one hand and this Summer to the other; after two hours, this had already disappeared, whereas the discontinued one lasted six hours. Unforgivable.

  • Very summery; I wear it with white or light-coloured clothes, imagining myself strolling in the sun or enjoying a drink. It’s simple and linear, with that familiar Vibrant Leather note but distinct enough not to be confused with it. Bergamot takes the lead here; while I’m not usually a huge fan of it on its own, it works beautifully in this fragrance, paired with ginger for a fresh, spicy kick. Longevity on the skin is excellent, though the projection is typical for Zara… I picked up the large bottle on offer for €12 and plan to use it a lot this summer, although I’m not sure I’ll buy it again since I tend to stick with the original Vibrant Leather when shopping at Zara.

  • oguhlegna

I’ve liked it quite a bit at a ridiculous price… I like that it’s not as sharp as the Cologne, for example. To get it without hesitation, just over 12 euros for 120 ml. You can reapply without any problem if it doesn’t last long enough; totally recommended.

  • daniiecrowley

The first time I tried it, I was shocked; it smelled like a floor cleaner, those super citrusy ones. A day later, I had an outdoor summer event with 31 degrees and a heat index of 38, and what a surprise! It’s the Zara fragrance that worked best for me. To be honest, it lasted 7 hours on my skin and was still projecting very weakly or at a personal level, yet I could still smell it. And it’s madness because I bought it at a mega discount for 248 Mexican pesos, about $10-11, so it’s excellent. Scent: 8, Longevity: 10, Sillage: 9, Price: 10, Final Rating: 9.2. Note: I later discovered why my initial rejection happened; I tested it near a pedestal fan and it blasted the whole thing straight in my face.

  • Ozymandias

The opening has its charm; it smells like those home air freshener sprays housewives used in my childhood. An irritating and horrible smell; Zara calls that ‘bergamot’. Who knows. Then that artificial, irritating hysteria moderates and only a nauseating smell of cheap cologne remains, the kind older ladies used to wear, which brings back memories of taking the bus to the pool or the Retiro in summer. The ginger isn’t there or expected, perhaps only at the very end during the dry-down. I don’t even see it as unisex; for me, it’s a woman’s scent.

  • Fanperfumero

Incredibly rich; for me, it’s Dior Homme Cologne in a different bottle. Fresh, citrusy and very long-lasting (almost 8 hours), which is difficult for a Cologne. This perfume could cost $50, and I’d happily pay it, what a pity it’s already out of stock.

  • Yes, sir!! This is the Vibrant Leather that goes with me. A super citrusy and revitalising aroma that I love to use during the hottest times of the year. It’s refined and elegant, yet extroverted, and you feel it fills you with energy. They say it’s similar to Dior Homme Cologne and Zara Vibrant Leather Cologne; I don’t know either of them, but here you go. It also performs very well, especially when compared to the poor longevity of the original Vibrant Leather on my skin. Although it’s masculine, I recommend women to try it because it seems 100% unisex to me. Basically, it’s a highly recommended fragrance that I suggest everyone tries at least, because knowing Zara, it will be on the discontinued list sooner or later. • If you want to buy it, the first thing is that it has nothing to do with the classic VL; this flanker only has the name due to the hype, yet it manages to carve out its own place as it doesn’t diminish what it offers in summer. It opens with a sharp bitter note, like a freshly cut orange with the juice, feeling strong for a few minutes before that sharp aroma fades, leaving a lighter scent that gives way to a more delicate yet citrusy smell. I dare say it feels somewhat sour but it doesn’t clash. The longevity is good and it’s perceived up close; I don’t know the Dior Cologne it’s compared to, but the Zara VL Summer is a rich and good option. Even for me, it has a touch of Terre d’Hermès, as it feels like a earthy citrus. If you like sharp citrus, this flanker (which isn’t one in itself) is a pretty and cheap option. Good for over-applying, preferably in climates of 28 degrees or more.

  • A very citrusy aroma where ginger is also noticeable, very rich and revitalising. It’s well worth it, especially given the price this brand offers.

  • Maître Venus

I’ve written about this fragrance again because I’ve just made a discovery. I was walking through a department store and, as I approached the Dior section, I noticed an almost perfect similarity to another Dior fragrance, not ‘Dior Homme Cologne’, but ‘Eau de Sauvage Cologne’. In fact, I find that ‘Vibrant Leather Summer’ resembles this more than Dior Homme Cologne. I want to share this because I always thought the Eau de Sauvage line was for older men, so I recommend that younger people try it. Regards.

  • Fresh, fresh, fresh. It’s citrusy and very refreshing, ideal for hot days, as if you’ve just stepped out of the shower; it renews you and puts you in a good mood. For a summer scent, the longevity is excellent, with a moderate sillage that generates compliments. Perfect for relaxing with friends, going for a walk, shopping, being outdoors or indoors. The notes are very well blended; it’s a soft, elegant and attractive EDP. It’s masculine but also unisex. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent, so I recommend it. If you like summer citrus, buy it blind.

  • At first, it didn’t do anything for me, but then the compliments started rolling in and I learned to love it. Fresh and elegant, it’s my favourite for summer, by the pool, at the beach or in extreme heat. I recommend more than six sprays; it works best on clothes.

  • BwFraganlover

With this fragrance, I thought I wouldn’t like the lemonade accord, until I discovered the spectacular Allure Elixir Blanche and realised what I didn’t like was this perfume. If this is how Dior Homme Cologne smells, then I don’t like it. God’s plan 🦉

  • Freddocardona

It’s pure lemon, but synthetic; in fact, it smells like Fabuloso, so I honestly relegated it to the gym because to me, it smells like nothing but floor cleaner…

  • Last year I ran out of this fragrance after trying it, and this year I managed to grab the last bottle available in the province. It’s citrus and even more citrus; if you like lemon and the spicy kick of ginger, it’s a great option for the price. I don’t detect the cedar; for me, it’s an ‘overdose of ginger’. Years ago they had something very similar, almost ginger plus citrus. It’s a simple fragrance, not simplistic, ideal for after the beach, the gym, a shower, or before bed. On my skin, it has a strong initial projection lasting 3-4 hours before settling into a pleasant skin scent. I understand those who say it smells like disinfectant or cleaner; the ginger can give that effect. At this price, it’s a summer must-have. Edit: I stopped wearing it after a season because the ginger overdose made me feel sick…

  • 2021 batch made in A Coruña, an absolute bargain at €8 for 120ml. It lasts like a rock; I left a shirt in a hotel and the scent was still brutal the next day. It’s potent, projects well, and has great longevity. Smells of orange leather, bergamot, and ginger; it’s like plunging your nose into a well-chilled gin tonic with lemon and fizzy tonic, but amplified. It’s sharp, acute, and super citrusy, nothing sweet. It resembles Dior Homme Cologne but with significant differences; it outshines Acqua di Gio in both power and longevity. I made the mistake of over-spraying (thinking it was the same as the regular ZVL) and felt dizzy to the point of nausea. I find it super refreshing for the gym, beach walks, tapas nights, or straight after a shower (though it doesn’t smell like body wash). My 23-year-old girlfriend prefers it to the regular ZVL. Three to five sprays is plenty.

  • What a beauty! This is cleanliness and freshness in a bottle. Purely citrus with a slight woody touch. As for longevity and projection, in my case, it lasts more than 8 hours.

  • To me, it smells like tangerine: a soft, slightly sweet citrus that isn’t sharp. You can detect the ginger touch, but it’s subtle, and I don’t pick up on the wood. The formula is simple but doesn’t smell like cheap cologne. It lasts longer on me in warm weather: about 2 hours of projection, then 4 or 5 hours close to the skin (with the 2021 batch; I don’t know if they reformulated it). It’s the kind of cologne I wear in summer with a linen shirt for the beach or a short walk; it’s pleasant and has good acceptance, though I wouldn’t wear it at night. On clothes, it lasts for days. If you like the smell of tangerine, you’ll love this.

  • A perfectly executed clone of Dior Homme Cologne. It’s a real treat to wear in summer, though I use it on any occasion, even in cold environments. From the start, there’s a sharp, energising ginger note, which then transitions to a clean, musky aroma. Of all the ones I know, none give that sense of cleanliness. I love spraying it on my freshly made clean sheets. On my skin, it has more than acceptable longevity for its type of scent. What a pity Zara has discontinued it, though I’m sure they’ll relaunch it under a different name; it wouldn’t be the first time.

  • Smells fresh and citrusy, leaning more towards tangerine. It’s a family fragrance, suitable for everyone. It has notable performance, so it works just as well for a shower, work, or going out. In short, an orange version of Dior Homme Cologne.

  • It’s a beast of a performer that stops people in their tracks 😂 People ask what I’m wearing. Very similar to Dior Homme Cologne, but this one is sharper and I prefer it. What a shame they’ve discontinued it 😢. It has exquisite fresh notes: a citrus and cedar that work wonders, adding a touch of elegance that women love. 1000 x 1000 recommended 🕉️🕉️🕉️
