Finally, the base notes settle with vetiver, oakmoss, cedar, sandalwood, tonka bean, and patchouli, closing the olfactive pyramid with a woody, earthy, and warm foundation.

A very fresh interpretation of vetiver, green and earthy with citrus that doesn’t dominate. It’s not dry or smoky, but competes with Oriza Legrand’s Vetiver Royal Bourbon for being ‘covered in herbs’. Here, celery, sage and galbanum take the place of thyme and periwinkle. To that herbal base are added spices such as cumin and nutmeg, giving it a sour and slightly bitter edge. The description accurately reflects my perception: vetiver is king, almost on par with celery, followed by cumin (no soapy scent, how nice!), nutmeg and sage. Performance is below average, lasting 4/5 hours with no projection. A very interesting take. Rating: 7 (Vintage Collection 2014 version).
